OleShawn
First Trip to Cedar Point, stayed 4 days and here is my trip report. I compared this place to KI so he goes. Most rides was a walk on or 30min wait and stayed that way all week, was expecting a lot more people, which was a bonus. I have rarely went to Kings Island and was more of a wait. CP wins there. Staff there seemed rude or in a bad mood, like they really hated their job, except for a few people who were nice. So Kings Island wins there. Theming could be a lot better, giving the lake and everything. I did enjoy the view when on rides but Kings Island seems a lot more detailed, where Cedar Point was more blacktop and concrete. Kings Island wins there. Park access is good at Cedar Point, driving in and parking was easy, where Kings Island feels crowded. Once your in the park getting to back of park is easy, chair lift to train and your right by Maverick. There is no quick way to back of Kings Island. Cedar Point wins there. Tried food is was alright, seeing how they don't have a Reds Grill. Kings Island wins there. Now for the rides, or the ones I rode. Gatekeeper was the first thing we rode, is was good and was a lot like Wild Eagle in Dollywood. Nothing wowed me Kinda of a let down, but after Banshee its hard to sit in those seats and not expect awesome. Raptor was the next, was alright, hit my head a few times, no where near as good a Banshee. Blue Streak surprised me on how good it was, beats The Racer and my 3rd favorite wooded coaster, behind Thunderhead and The Beast. Good air time and was fast. Corkscrew, big disappointment and rough. Seems the be a theme with Arrow coasters. Magnum XL, had high expectations and was thinking it would be like Diamondback...wrong. Was fast and rough and couldn't wait till it was over, which I can say the same for these rides too, Gemini and Meanstreak. Iron Dragon surprised me on how fun it was, a lot better than The Bat. Except The Bat's drop is a lot better. Mantis was my first stand-up coaster and it was hard on me, I stood-up too much and was pretty much riding on my private area, so I chalk that up to rider error. Didn't enjoy it, but its not the rides fault, unless I want to blame the restraints. Maverick, what can I say, its awesome. Every part of that ride was awesome and one of two coasters that I thought was themed well. This one has it all. Top Thrill Dragster scared me every time, night ride was great and loved the theming. Rode this on the ERT from 10pm to 11pm. 4 times in a row it gave me a headache but well worth it lol. Last but not least Millennium Force, just plain awesome. From the drop to the ejector air. Thought it would be better than Diamondback, was faster and more intense. The seats on Diamondback makes it better. Put those seats on Millennium Force and you would have best ride in the world. A lot of what hurts Cedar Points rides is the restraints, that falls back on Intamin. They do have the Giga and Strata but it all comes down to how it feels, not much different in 200+ drop and 300+ drop. I love ejector air, so I love the front. I will say back seat on Millennium Force beats Diamondbacks, but front seat goes to Diamondback. Banshee is its own world and I would compare it to Maverick and far as how fun it is. I'm not downing Cedar Point just the whole time I kept missing Kings Island and am glad I like it better because its a lot closer. Kings Island needs just a few more big coasters and I would never think about Cedar Point. Thank you for reading.
PhantomTheater
Where and what did you eat? Mantis wasn't your fault, every male bodied rider has gotten their stuff crushed on that thing at least once. As for Gemini and Magnum did you ride a x-3 seat? If you did there was your problem, particular Gemini which a x-1 or 2 seat is quite smooth and x-3 destroys my back.

thedevariouseffect
1. We seem rude and ticked at times, and granted sometimes we may be, however, I assure you many there enjoy the jobs. Just about every ride location has at least two returners on it, some rides more, and some rides people who have returned for seasonals 3/4+ years. 2. The only area with Blacktop is Frontier Trail, KI has about the same possibly more around Tower/Tower Gardens, back to Coney by the clock, etc. 3. CP has never had theming, it just does rides, can't say anything there. 4. They do have things like Reds Grille, even more so. There's Famous Daves, TGI Fridays on the Beach, Chickies & Petes, Breakwater Cafe, etc. the list goes on KI has only two sit down restaurants within the park, CP has numerous on the peninsula and several in the park 5. Ride Corkscrew in 21, press your feet against the front wall, and head back, press your shoulders into the OTSR, no issues whatsoever. Test riding it everyday, I can tell you, it's smoother than you think, Ride limp yeah you'll get jostled around, but ride with me the way I ride, it'll give you more airtime on the bunny hill than you ever would give it credit for. 6. Dunno why everyone keeps saying Maggie is so terribly bad and hurts them, never had an issue. Only thing I can attribute is people with small legs, in that case nothing I can do to fix that issue. 7. Mantis will hurt the boys, you NEED to stand fully erect (no pun intended but pretty clever), there's a reason over the mic we stress that, feet straight back, stand nice and tall, etc. It is important. Be happy you didn't get stopped MCBR or on the safety brake, you'd know. 8. Restraints can be an issue, but if you learn how to ride and where you eliminate those issues. Look at Beast, if you ride in the very last row, you'll instantly know you probably weren't thinking clearly. However, we all know ride middle rowed seats and that eliminates the jostle. Just have to apply the same practices to KI. Maggie, four clicks min, nice snug belt in 15/16, great ride. Corkscrew, already explained, Mantis already explained. Raptor just keep your head back and straight in row 11/14, 81/84. Gatekeeper, only Left side, and prefer rear. Go again, learn from the mistakes, and ride again and enjoy the park. The parks are part of the same chain but are different personalities for now at least. KI is a family park with mostly attractions everyone of any age can enjoy and respect. CP is a worldwide destination park that caters to teens-up moreover than anything and targets the adrenaline junkies. It is only now in recent years has targeted families in the park, as they realize they spend the most money and garnish the most profits for the company.

We ate twice, once at some chicken place by Blue Streak and another was some hamburger place, i cant remember. The food wasnt bad, but I just love Red's Grill lol. I think it might had been that seat.
