So today the Frydryk family decided to go to PKI to get our 2004 passes and ride a few of the rides for the last time this year. My brother and I went the day by ourselves.

In the parking lot, I looked up at DZ and remembered the "last resort emergency retrevial system" and about wet myself. I can't even imagine being stuck up 260 ft. in the air like that. Needless to say, this is one ride I didn't do today.

Well we started out the day with SOB. What a turbulent ride. However I this time scooted my butt forward in the seat so the lap bar wouldn't go down all the way. Great idea, guys...I had the smoothest ride on that coaster I've ever had! I held onto the bar in front of you attached to the car and yanked so hard, my back didn't ever touch the seat back. Best ride ever. Wait: 5 mins. (I'm not exaggerating, either.)

We went on Delirium next. It was Nick's first ride. Hands down the best flat ride in the park!!! I LOVE that thing. Great g-forces, speed, and that loved "out of control" feeling. It DOES feel like you're in the middle of a tornado (not that I have been in a real one...) Wait: 30 mins. Good capacity BTW.

Next ride was FoF in Coney Maul. What a great ride...smooth track but bumpy track transitions (kind of whips you during turns and banks). Acutally took in all of the theming and realized that PKI did one hell of a job with it. There's a lot of dust everywhere, kinda gross but oh well. Looked for the KC cars, and didn't find any. But otherwise, what a sweet ride. Lots of close calls with the arms up. Wait: about 45 mins.

Crusing over to Rivertown, we went on The Beast. What a classic...smoothest ride in a LONG time. Didn't do anything differently than all of the other times I've ridden it. The helix, as usual, was GREAT. There were two ladies in front of us bouncing around like crazy...oddly hilarious. I also realized how close it is to The Racer. Again, a classic coaster. It lives up to its name and age. Wait: 25 mins.

We went over to The Racer next...another turbulent ride. The backwards side was on its last train when we got in line. No maintenance probs, don't know why it was closing/closed. Oh well. Had MAJOR airtime, best in the park. I can see why its considered that The Racer started the second generation of the rollercoaster. Wait: 20 mins.

Last ride of the day: Adventure Express. Getting into line, it was the longest I've ever seen it - nearly out to the ride entrance. It was ok, it went fast. I thought to myself, every park needs an Arrow mine train coaster. A perfect combination of fast speed, a nice hill and some turbulence. At times it was so jerky, I'm sure a slim jim would have been jealous. laugh.gif Here's something to think about. The regular guy talking about the "lost family expedition" was absent. Instead, they played the Indiana Jones theme song! Hmmmm... Wait: about 25 mins.

Didn't get to ride the train to see how BB is coming along...little dissapointed I forgot about it. Still no sign out front in the parking lot. A little curious to see what the new one is gonna look like...hope it's sweet! 'Till 2004, PKI, farewell!

Mrs. Chef and I went to PKI yesterday - and since she is pregnant we also had a short visit. First we went to SDATHC. Though it was 10 AM on the nose, the line was already long. Mrs. Chef beat me by 200 point! mad.gif

Then we rode the Kings Island and Miami Valley Railroad to the Pumpkin Patch where we each were able to pick and keep a small pumpkin. Then on to The Great Pumpkin, an animatronic pumpking that appears to talk. The reality is that an actress is hidden somewhere and she holds rather good conversations.

Then we walked to Hanna-Barbera Land and passed the Rugrats Runaway Reptar. Since there was no line (rare) I rode alone while Mrs. Chef waited. Then I bought us blueberry ice cream cones at Huckleberry Dairy. Since I finished my cone before Mrs. Chef, I rode Adventure Express once by myself and then we left.

I know that my trip didn't sound exciting because I didn't get on any thrill rides - and my trip was brief. However, I still enjoyed myself because I was with my favorite person (my wife) at my favorite place (PKI).

Have a great day!

I also visited the park on the 25. I arrived right around 7:30, right as torrential rains arrived. Needless to say, we waited in the car until the rain stopped which happened around 8:00. Lots of people left the park whenit was raining. I had two things I wanted to do, the two mazes that I had yet to get to: Curse of The Crypt and Circus of Horrors 3D. First was Circus of Horrors 3D. The sign said about an hour wait. However, after about ten minutes in line, we were already to the 30 minute sign. After a total of 30 minutes, we entered. I liked some of the 3D effects, however, it seemed like there needed to be more clowns. The best part was the ending.

After we finished there, we headed to Curse of the Crypt. The guy at the end of the line said the line was an hour and twenty minutes. Well, we waited, and in 15 minutes, found ourselves at the thirty minute sign. One disappointing thing was the group behind us consisted of two parents who insisted that they take there two small kids through with them (about four years old). They were screaming and crying even before they entered! My sister freaked out at the end, because some mummy was following her, repeating her name because someone in my group mentioned her name. I was laughing so hard because my sister was freaking out so much. I was laughing so hard that when we exited, I could barely stand up and I had tear in my eyes. Definately, a lot of fun, and I think the actor had a lot of fun scaring my sister as well.

We then headed to The Beast. We grabbed a ride in the front seat. The ride was cold and eerie because of a light fog that had settled in after the rain. Also, it wasn`t completely dark, despite it being almost ten because the lights in the Action Zone (Delirium and DZ in particular) were reflecting off of the fog. A very smooth and fast ride, with a great atmosphere in the station.

A quick ten minute wait for Drop Zone and I was going up to experience a very cold wind at the top. Definately a cold plummet back to earth. I had thought about the recent topic on DZ. After that, we headed to the car. As if to justify our decision to leave, it started to lightly rain as we started the car up. I`ll be back up there on Sunday for the construction tour!
