Today, 17 years ago, on Earth Day, Disney's Animal Kingdom opened to the public.

In 2008, they held a 10th anniversary speech, where Joe Rohde talked a ton about the park's history.

    Fun fact!

    Animal Kingdom does NOT use lids for its cups when you purchase a fountain pop (or free cup of water) beverage and the straws you get are a cardboard like straw!

    I am sorta dissapointed he didn't really talk much about BEASTly Kingdom. I would have been interested on what ideas they had planned at that time.
