malem
(Restored post. Unfortunately, the rest of this trip report isn't in Google's cache, Bing's cache, or my browser's cache.) shark6495: The family (Mrs. Shark, Baby shark, myself, my dad, my mom, my sister, my brother in law, and my nephew) all made the pilgrimage to Orlando to see the city Walt Built. For points of reference, we stayed in the Art of Animation and my family stayed in Pop Century for most of their trip. SUNDAY (Day 1): We arrive in sunny (and humid) Orlando and wheel my son off of the plane. My parents and sister's family would be arriving 20 minutes after us at the other airport. Upon arrival, we were instructed at the Disney Magical Express to wear our Magic Bands in the air port. We do so, connect the "Mickey to Mickey" on the posts and proceed to the busses. Our bags would make their way to our rooms within the next 3 hours, so we had to pack a few essentials in our carry on. We board the bus and make the trip to WDW. The bus played a 40 minute video/commercial for things to see and do (and buy) in Disney. We arrive at Art of Animation and check in, walk to the room, Click Mickey to Mickey and get to see the inside of our Little Mermaid Suite. The room was great to look at but the cleaning company missed some spots and there was dust on the counter. On the way back down to catch Disney transportation to head over to Downtown Disney, I stopped in to talk with a hotel clerk to get the room re-cleaned for us. They did, it was fixed. Disney transport is awesome and horrible. Takes forever to arrive and sometimes the busses are stuffed full. The ride to Downtown Disney took about 20 minutes. We got there just in time for our reservations for Portabello's. But... my sister and family stayed night 1 at a Marriott and drove to downtown Disney. They took about 90 minutes to get there. But the restaurant was willing to work around our delayed start. Dinner was great and the portions are good enough to share. Woodburning stoves create tasty thin crust pizzas. We ended the night walking around Downtown Disney, looking into the shops, playing in the Lego store, and then waiting 60 minutes for the busses to take 100s of people back to our resort.
Gabe
AOA does not feature Little Mermaid suites. The suites are themed to Lion King, Cars and Nemo. Mermaid are regular rooms. AOA was once going to be a big expansion of Pop next door, but the recession hit with some buildings half done and construction was halted. After the economy rebounded, the project turned into AOA but the Mermaid building was substantially already complete so Disney decided not to spend the money to retrofit that building. Gabe
Also, driving to DTD right now is nothing short of a nightmare. The new garages are very hard to access right now and the parking is a jumbled mess. During peak season, Disney buses have a dedicated lane, which makes riding them a huge plus. Unfortunately, after 4 PM, if you want to get there via bus, you must take a bus to one of the parks and from there to DTD. Not fun and time consuming, similar to using the bus to resort hop. It's very laborious.
shark6495
How do I check my browsers cache?
malem
With Firefox, go to about:cache (in the browser) and click the link to disk cache. With Chrome on Windows, search in all files in %localappdata%\google\chrome With IE on Windows, go to Internet Options->General->Browsing History->Settings->View FIles
shark6495
So I have my cache pulled up but how do I get information fgrom it?
malem
In Firefox, search the page (CTRL+F) for the word "shark". If the thread is one of the listed (& cached) pages, click the link to view it. In Chrome, there's actually an easier way. Go to chrome://cache/ in the urlbar and search the page (CTRL+F) for the word "shark". For Internet Explorer, use Windows file search (Start->Search) to search all files in that folder for a few words of your trip report. (eg. "cleaning company missed")

shark6495
Thanks I appreciate it. I have pictures, still going through them. I dont want to really post pictures of lil shark on the net (no offense to anyone here) so I will be going through them. AOA does not feature Little Mermaid suites. You are right, they are not suites, but it makes them sound super nice and for the price, its the little things

CoasterDirected
Disney may be expensive as heck, but they sure make memories that last a lifetime. My first time going after my parents got divorced when I was young, I went on Haunted Mansion just with my dad. I remember being so scared I cried, and I did until I got I got into the loading area. We still have the picture on the fireplace of me just outside the mansion beaming but with tear stains. God, I miss that place so much. Have only been to Universal due our condo/timeshares have much better deals with Universal.
