The Interpreter Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 That article is messed up. A cement company was fined due to procedures greasing rollers on a ride? Really? 5 Quote

NoChickens Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 But, this one piece of the article might speak volumes. The federal regulatory agency said Cedar Fair of Sandusky failed to train employees to shut off power before performing maintenance work on the Slingshot ride so the safety procedure was not followed. Regulators also said Cedar Fair did not properly train employees in safety measures when they are exposed to moving parts on the Slingshot.Read more at http://www.toledoblade.com/business/2015/12/05/OSHA-fines-Cedar-Fair-over-injury.html#VHAQVMVPzmB1JcTp.99 6 Quote

The Interpreter Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 And what does an OSHA proposed fine have to do with this? Employees are covered by workers' compensation, and generally CANNOT successfully sue their employer for workplace injuries absent willful and wanton intentional employer caused injury and/or gross negligence. And OSHA fines are typically very small, usually reduced in negotiations, and/or on appeal. And they go to OSHA, NOT employees. Rich? You WANT to lose a life, limb. and/or a quality of life for money? 8 Quote
