Dane
Kings Island, Ohio -Paramount's Kings Island transforms into something sinister this autumn as it celebrates FearFest, the Midwest's largest haunted event. Beginning October 4 and running Saturdays and Sundays in October, as well as November 1 and 2, FearFest will feature seven horrifying attractions for ghouls 12 and older. A wide variety of splendidly spooktacular activities will also delight those children who prefer their haunts during the daylight hours. For the first time, this hauntingly exciting event is included with park admission and free to season pass holders. Prepare for fun by day and fright by night. FearFest grips the park each day from 10 a.m. to park close. Children's activities end at 6:30 p.m. Several terrifying indoor attractions open as early as 3 p.m. Shrieks of both excitement and terror will echo throughout the park from Hanna-Barbera™ Land to Action Zone™ through Coney Mall and down to Rivertown, including: New for the little spooks in 2003 Pumpkin Patch Express: All aboard! Families with little goblins are invited to take a ride on the most exciting Halloween train in the land. As you wind through the woods, keep your eyes open for the park's special pumpkin patch - we've got a pumpkin that's just right for you! When the careful selection is complete, catch the caboose and head toward the… Ghastly Grove: The last stop on the Pumpkin Patch Express is frightingly fun! Enter a Halloween haven, filled with everything from pumpkin decorating goblin food, games and face painting. Come on in….if you dare!!! Boo's House: The Ghastly Grove is home to this inflatable maze that has enough of the treats kids are looking for in a Halloween Haunted house - without all the scary tricks. The Great Pumpkin: Take a second to talk to our FearFest Great Pumpkin to find out what Halloween has in store for you. That's right! This giant pumpkin actually talks back…to those happy haunters who are ready for some Halloween magic! Trick or Treat: Put on your best costume and get ready for some serious candy collecting! On Saturday, Oct. 25 and Sunday, Oct. 26, ghouls and boys will be knocking on doors and banging on windows throughout the park. Say the magic words, and a treat is sure to come! Scary or merry, all costumes are welcome! Then join us at 2 p.m. for the Kahn's Masquerade Parade through the park. We'll start at the Festhaus and finish the parade with a walk across the Kids Costume Stage! In this haunting Halloween parade, you're the grand marshall! 2003 New horrors - not designed for the faint of heart Route 666: The usually serene antique cars are a mere backdrop for the evil lurking in the shadows. As you navigate along the abandoned highway, watch out for uninvited guests who may try to snatch your souls, and steer clear of the devilish laughter coming from the dark side. Will you make it out alive or take Route 666 to your final destination?! New and Improved Curse of the Crypt: If you enjoyed this classic journey of horror last year, get ready for something all new and totally terrifying! Guests will begin a claustrophobic trek through cobwebbed catacombs only to find a mummy reincarnated and in search of revenge. As you run through the seemingly endless hallways, you'll dodge not only mummies in search of your soul, but vampires, werewolves and other terrifying creatures in search of victims for permanent preservation. Back by popular demand in 2003 House of Darkness: A traditional gothic haunted house patterned after a once opulent Victorian manor beckons. Even though the mansion is in ruin, the rumors of strange inhabitants persist. With a devilish wink and foreboding laugh, a hooded figure ushers you into this foreboding gothic castle. Creeping through the corridors, guests enter one terrifying room after another. Doors within this home of the undead open and shut at random. There is no turning back from the frightening adventure that lies ahead. Circus of Horrors: This one-of-a-kind 3-D nightmare brings the circus to town. However, after looking through the dusty glass window of the ticket booth, it becomes obvious that this is not your run-of-the-mill Big Top. A house of mirrors challenges your sense of direction, while 3-D images test your sense of reality. Only the most determined will make it out alive. Maze of Madness: As the sound of footsteps echo through the park, guests draw nearer to the asylum known as The Maze of Madness. Chain link and mirrors make up this challenging, institutional maze. The very sight of its rusting, iron-hinged will make your stomach knot as you peer through the cracked entry portal. Don't be surprised if you never find your way out. Fear not; someone…or something is sure to find you. Superstition: The Paramount Action FX Theater is transformed into an abandoned theater promising frightfully interactive entertainment featuring the one and only Elvira®, "Mistress of the Dark"™. Elvira beckons guests inside her virtual "Scream Park" for the ride of their afterlife. It's full scream ahead, as willing victims experience Elvira's thrill ride, the likes of which no living being has ever survived. PsychoPath: Night has fallen on an old trail leading into Kings Island's woods. Trudging down this darkened path overgrown with weeds and trees, guests move helplessly into the heart of darkness where they confront hideous creatures lurking in the shadows. Zombies in advanced stages of decay arise from the bowels of the earth to wander mindlessly along the trail in search of new life. Loud, frantic screams fill the air leading to a place where nightmares are born. Will you make it out alive? Or will you become part of the PsychoPath? In addition to all the horrific haunted attractions, those looking for a different kind of thrill can test their bravery on the most terrifying rides on the planet. Most of Paramount's Kings Island's heart-stopping, take-your-breath-away thrill rides will be in operation throughout FearFest. (Please note that Hanna-Barbera and Nickelodeon™ Central will close at 7 p.m.) Because the evening attractions in FearFest are designed to be frightening, we ask that guests do not come in costume.
