Ryan
Today was a beautiful day, though a bit windy at times, up at PKI. It was good to be back and a fun end to my weekend(Prom and Afterprom Saturday night). Tomb Raider was our first ride after walking around the very cool looking IJST. TRTR fx wise is still very lacking in the ride chamber, but alot of steam and mist was going and made for a neat ride, also the catches are different from the end of last season, making the last catch before gliding into the station much more bearable, atleast in my opinion. Despite a lack of fx repair in the ride chamber, it still looked good, with the area under the triangle now hidden by black tarp to hide the ladder that's been visible for the past couple of seasons. The queue looked great, lots of cobwebs, and the antechamber lighting seemed to dim at just the right moments and created a cool ambience as you entered it, and changed as you waited, the last time I saw it do that well was its opening year. Also, the light pattern on the door is back, though it still doesn't completely work. The preshow looked great too, and all of the flame torches in the ride worked great with the exception of those just before the station in the ride chamber. Very nice upkeep indeed. We did a few other rides, and ate at Skyline in Coney and the new Happy Days Diner, which was an awesome addition and I thought the meals were reasonable and they tasted great. I'll definetly be returning. Starbucks is apparently going in and Graeter's was open today it appeared. But the highlight of today was IJST being tested. It looks great and very fun, though I didn't see the cars fishtailing. The warehouse looks to have alot of props in it, more of which are by The Racer next to the old Antique Cars. It really is shaping up to be a great ride. Today was really a blast, and a great way to kick off the season.
