Roughly half-way through White Water Canyon, there is a sign that says "Rough water" and below that there is some sort of (what I assume to be a) hydraulic mechanism that pushes the water through the turn. I have noticed this before. However, there are also now gates that open and close as the boats go buy, almost like they are keeping the boats at a safe distance from one another. The thing is, I have NEVER noticed these gates, or the ride-op tower that now sits there. Are these new additions, aspects of the ride that have not been used in the past, or just something that I never noticed before?

Have they always used them? I don't remember them ever being used. Maybe I just didn't notice it.

The gates have always been there. They are used as needed, if too many boats are down stream, or the station is stopped, and to keep the boats spaced.

Like to keep 10 boats from coming to the next tower at once, right Bobby? lol
