Would that effect anything? I know how LIMs work, and I have a feeling paint might hinder the electromagnetics. Then again, I never really learnt about that, so who knows...

I'm not 100% sure, but I wouldn't think that paint would affect the LIM's in the least. Magnetism is magnetism and unless there's something physical to hinder them, then I would say not.
