Nights of Fire

I was working in the games during the nights of fire so I didn't get the best seat in the house but I have a pretty good view of everything going on. I really liked all the fireworks and special fireworks to go with what the person was saying. I thought that the person talking or our nations freedom or whatever during the whole thing was a little corny. I really liked how they shot fireworks off of what I thinks was the fountains of international street, that was a cool little effect. I thougt overall the show was great but a little short, I think it lasted like 15-20 minutes, not like the past when I remember it being like 25 minutes, or I at least think it was that long. The night overall was great.

Those firework are actually going off behind the southside international street buildings. If you go to the side lot by the admin offices ( they open-up for this event ) Those fireworks go off right in front of you, it is a real great location, and you can hear everything. I personally and highly suggest this location.

It closed at 11. Nights of Fire was great, not as long as in the past but still great none the less. The soundtrack was fantastic too, featuring great quotes from FDR, Reagan, JFK, and current president George W. Bush. The music was pretty good, especially the classic lee green wood song "i'm proud to be an American".

I would also like to add that they change the color of the tower different colors, and at times three different colors at once, nice effect. they used some new types of fireworks (At least to me) to go with the music at times. My 6 year old daughter was very excited and danced to the music, so I did miss some of the show because fathers will trade any show to watch thier children in such excitment. So I would haft to say Kings Island did a great job, from a family perspective. We really like the extra shows in the park over the holiday weekends as it is something new and different.

I think we will always try to come over the 4th holiday.

No, they were allowed to stand in the admin lot to view the fireworks. The part of the lot opened at 8:00 this evening.

Were there three launch sites again this year?

-One behind SOB/Gun

-One at normal location

-One at the pumpkin patch

I will be down tomorrow to check it out.

Im glad they light the tower, I dont know why they dont light it all the time.

Cool

Wait so they extras were being shot off building on the right side of International Street, sorry I don't know what side of the park is north or south. I was a splat city shootout (right by timmy's sky tours). If they did go off the buildings how did they get clearance to do that. I didn't think in Ohio you were able to shoot even close to building let alone on them. huh.gif

They were probably using a grade of close proximity fireworks.....similar to the type of fireworks they use at football games and concerts. There are fireworks called mines that dont go very far in the air, then they break with very little fallout....this way they can be used close to the audience

  • 3 weeks later...

Nights of Fire Weekend was great way to spend the holiday weekend. They have alot of entertainment/shows that they normally don't have. The fire works are very pretty and they last along time. The picnic dinner was also very good. I hope they continue this in the future years and have it more often (daily) for the public in the restraunt overlooking the fountains.
