Avatar
On August 5, 2006 we decided (daughter 6 wife & me) to take advantage of The Beach Water Park’s buy-one get-one free 2007 season ticket sale and add to our options of activities to do when we regularly visit the Cincinnati area. I’ll start with the trip report then our personal review of the park. We arrived at The Beach Water Park at 9:20am. I bought the Diamond season passes for my wife and daughter and Platinum season pass for me. Both types of passes let us get in a half an hour early and Tradewinds private seating area, 20% discounts on food, drinks and merchandise. They couldn’t print out our passes because they were out of ink and told us to come back at the end of our visit and they should be ready by then. This kind of worked out ok because they gave all of us the platinum wristband for the day, so that allowed all of us to get free soft drinks for the day. In addition to buying passes we bought 6 Tube rentals tickets for $16 to be used by the end of 2007. So we got in at 9:30am picked a seat and went to the changing rooms and changed. I noticed the men’s room was very basic and need’s updated as first impressions do last. Also I did not see a family changing area available. We went to the kids section Splash Mountain & Jolly Mon Shores, then rode a some rides Snake River, Hidden Rapids, Twilight Zoom and Volcanic Panic. They were fun & ok, but the water pressure on some rides is very low and at times on Volcanic Panic I just wanted to stand-up and walk down!! We then floated in the Kahuna Beach Wave Pool with tubes and that was fun I noticed only the middle wave machine was working and wondered how much fun it would be to have all three working. We then got lunch 1 cheeseburger w/toppings 1 BBQ sandwich w/ toppings 1 cheese cassadiea w/onion, lettuce 1 bag of chips 3 free Cokes and then the 20% discount came to $11.79 a super great deal and the quality was good. In the Tradewinds seating area you can have a patio table w/chairs right next to your lounge chairs which make it real nice to eat and read. Then they made a announcement that for the next hour, Tradewinds gift shop was having 50% off everything in their shop except candy so wife got swim suit, skirt & watch. Daughter got sand toys, new 2 piece swim suit, shoes & I got 3 t-shirts 2 trunks and the bill, But at 50% it wasn’t bad close to $70.00. Went back to our seat at Tradwinds and daughter was able to try out her new sand toys. We napped, swam and snacked until 9pm then they we getting ready to show a movie (Narnia) above the wave pool on 20ft by 20ft screen, they call it dive-in. Our seats were pretty good the moon was out so we decided to stay. Daughter thought it was cool floating in our tubes watching a movie. We left The Beach Water Park around 11:30 pm A couple things that were a negative for the day was bathrooms in the midday needed serious attention glad I wear shower shoes, but can’t help but wonder about people walking through dirty bathroom floors then back into the pools. The other problem was people kept trying to take our rental tubes when were not looking, happened twice once when I had to tell two knowing better teenage girls to give our tube back. I think the park could help this if they put up a couple signs suggesting if using an unauthorized use of a rented tube could warrant ejection from the park. My review of the The Beach Water Park I really enjoyed the parks natural surrounding of hills, mature tress, and feel good on your feet sand. The extra live entertainment was good but would even be better if they would stop the in park soundtrack while entertainment was going on. Some of best laidback friendly employee’s that I have come across in a while; even the food service was quick and friendly. The prices at the park are some of the best family friendly prices I’ve seen in a family park. Now on the downside of the park some of the rides seem old and worn-out. The bathrooms need to be serviced through the day and brought up to date overall. Overall a very nice water park to visit I think it attracts mostly locals and gives the feel of a super nice community pool with extra attractions. The special events schedule makes us want to visit more in the future and we look forward to doing so. bsktgrvy
Thanks for the report - we went to the Beach Waterpark a couple of years ago and I thought it was run down and not a very clean place. A few attractions were not running the day we went either (in the middle of July!). I decided then I would not be going back. Cleanliness in a water park is very important in my opinion. If it's dirty I may as well just go swim in a lake.

cstrwomann
What slides are body slides and which are tube slides? Are the slides emptying into a pool of water 3 feet or more? Do they charge for raft rental?
Avatar
To answer your first three questions better I have but a link to The Beach Waterpark and that should give you a much better description for each water attraction as I only went once so far this year. I believe a couple slides did go into a pool of water, and if you have children that are under 45†but know how to swim then they can take a Beach swim test and if they pass they may ride body flume rides. Water Tubes may be rented for $5.45 plus a $2.00 deposit or $16.00 for 4 tubes plus deposit. Although it is not necessary to rent tubes because they have a certain amount of tubes that may be used for each attraction and if you have your own you do not haft to wait in line for one of theirs. Since I did rent a tube for our visit I'm not sure if I recommend it for these reasons, 1st the line was way to long to rent the tubes and to get your deposit back 2nd Local teenagers are always trying to take your tubes when your not looking and the park doesn’t discourage this by threat of action, so in my opinion it is a rampant problem, 3rd Not all slides allow you to use a rented tube on them and it gets confusing to which ones do and which ones don’t if you are not to familiar with the park, additionally when your faced with that problem what do you do with your tube especially with the problem mentioned in #2.
