Karen
Went to Fear Fest both days this weekend!! We had a fantastic time. Did not do too many of the "haunted houses". Corn Stalkers and Sleepy Hallow along with the new Cowboy Manor. All were good. Sleepy Hallow did not have nearly enough actors. Not able to do the Psycho Path because it is simply not wheelchair accessible. A wheelchair can get through it but not if you plan on keeping it. Last year I kept getting stuck in the many dirt holes and various places where they shot out water at the guests. The best part was the "sliders", Chainsaw man and the Undertaker. The actors this year did an awesome job. They picked me as one of their favorites and tended to chase me around most of the night. It was so much fun. Several times they surrounded myself and others in their bid to put some scare into us!! Someone informed the undertaker of my name which he used quite often through out the night. Even coming up behind me and scaring the life out of me. He put new meaning into his words "I am digging your grave tonight!!". Loved his line to the parents of small children "Don't blame me for frightening them, YOU brought them here!". That ton of voice and his earie laugh was enough to send chills up and down my spine!! I spent many a moments jumping at that wicked and evil laugh!! My abosolute favorites were the "chain saw dude", the slider in all black with the distorted face and the Undertaker. Also the shortest slider in what looked like a burlap face. These men were awesome!!! Kept me scared and getting others to chase me as well. There was some competition with the chainsaw man and the slider in black as to how many times they could catch me off guard - trust me it was a lot!!! I burns me up to see these people treated badly or to see people walking around like they are "too cool" to be scared. Why go to Fear Fest if not to be frightened??? Quit taking the fun out of their jobs and go with the flow folks!! One of the sliders laughted so hard almost every time he got me because of my reactions. It was something to watch him fall over laughing!! I think the sliders, undertaker and the chainsaw guy need to get a little respect for the great job they all did in the front of the park!! They also kept visitors on their toes throught out the park as well!! Sure mad my trip and season passes worth while!!!
The Interpreter
Glad you had a good time! The Undertaker is really doing his job! As for Psychopath, if the park says it is wheelchair accessible, it really OUGHT to be. They should be looking into this. . .
Karen
Yes I think all of them have done a great job!!! The chain saw man would have groups of people running away from him with that ripping of noise coming from it!! The various sliders were attacking all they could find and how they kept up the stamina of running as much as they were was simply amazing!! I have to give a lot of credit and admiration to those guys out there!! Love them all and hope I see them all next year. Gave them pictures taken of them along with a thank you note and my email so that hopefully I will hear from them!!! I don't get a lot of enjoyment in my life and when you see a group of people see beyond my chair to give me a great time - well they rank high in my book. Other years those sliders went after the young and pretty only but these guys are going after anyone they think they can get a good reaction!! I have just as much fun watching them in action as I do being scared by them!! The guy in black with a distorted looking face has a competition going with me. I try to keep track of him and he goes out of his way to disappear and sneak up on me!! He wins.
Karen
Ohh did want to comment that on the other attractions/haunted mazes. Well the others are not so handicapped accessible either. There are narrow walk ways and narror turns that caused damage to my wheelchair last year because I could not manuver around them easily and it knocked off my one foot piece. We had to take my leg pieces off of the chair and put them in my backpack or I had to hold them as they would not fit and I could not afford to keep replacing them. Sleepy hallow, corn stalkers, main scream, holiday horrors, and work zone were good on the accessibility. The cowboy manor was good on the outside but ran into a few very tight turns on the inside. Psycho path was great last year but the many bumps and numerous times I got stuck just took all the fun out and we had people bogged down behind us. This happens whether I am in their scooters or my wheelchair. It is very embarrassing when people are screaming at you to move it along that we were holding up the lines. I felt very uncomfortable so just gave up even trying any more. I have written several letters to PKI and have not only not gotten a response but nothing was changed this year. It would have been nice to at least offer me a pass for my problems and damage to my wheelchair but nothing. Forget getting anything into the Asylum - if it is like last years there is no way. I got a Kings Island Scooter stuck in there to where the employees had to get it out. My own wheelchair did not fare any better. When you have people in there screaming at you to move it along like the "actors" did last year - well I choose not to even attempt it this year. The guy at the end of the Asylum who is this year getting people to enter it is entertainment enough!! He was awesome last year and was chasing people away nonstop - he also got me a few times when I was not paying attention to where he was. Had a lot of fun with him while my family waited in line to enjoy that attraction. That is a lot of what I do is wait for them to enjoy the haunted houses and thus got more interested in the sliders so that I could find fun with fear fest too!! They were ok last year but this year they have been fantastic!!! Best crew ever!!! A few of the sliders are repeats of last year - glad they came back as they were the same ones that gave me a great time last year!!

Karen
HEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY Kind words nothing you are fantastic!!! Yes I will be there both days rain or shine!! Are you kidding??? I made sure I had someone going with me to help with that wheelchair!!! All you had to do was stop and stare at me and I went into hiding!! That is why I stayed where I did. That make up is awesome!! Is that the picture I gave you?? I have more that we are picking up this week. Too many to print out on my portable printer so we send them off. I am sure I have a few more that we took of you. It is kind of hard getting them because of the smoke that you are always walking through and the fact that you even scare my kids!!! Someone on another string asked if I was that "KAREN". LOL I think we had a classic scare thing going there. Last weekend several people were watching us and laughing their bottoms off at how you were scaring me. I saw them out of the corner of my eyes as I turned and was real surprised to see you again!!! Wow usually you advance a little - I move and you go back but last week??? OMG Evertime I stopped and looked you were still coming!!! OHHH the one weekend, I was sitting on the left as people come in by the little store watching to make sure you were off somewhere else, I lost sight of you. Then that noise went off and got me a bit worried so I scanned and still could not see where in the world you took off. Suddenly that speaker came on again and you were right behind me I nearly died!!!! OMG YOU scared the living daylights out of me!!! It was awesome!!! Yes I get that same rush getting scared that you get scaring me!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!! Before you leave Friday or Saturday night please pose for a pick with me?? Just be nice and don't scare me so badly then lolol. Honestly you really do frighten the crap out of me and I can hear you half the night saying my name. Man each time I heard it no matter where I was, stopped dead in my tracks and scanned the area looking to make sure you were not advancing on me again!!! You did not have to come at me to scare me!!! Dane "chain saw guy" found that out real quickly!! He got the biggest kick out of slamming trash can lids behind me too!! I am not fully confined to my chair and am going to try to take enough over the counter medications (ibuprophen - rarely ever take anything stronger - hate medicine) so I can walk more - do not let that deter you from sneaking up!! If it hurts I will sit - the pain usually goes away rather quickly once down and the pressure is off. Got a lot of unfixable back crap but once I sit the pressure on my back goes away so the pain eases. I meant what I wrote on that picture too!! You are fantastic and I am going to really miss you all this year - please come back next year!!!!!!!
Karen
Yes undertaker wanted to say one more thing - Sometimes when you called my name or saw me staring the chain saw guy was usually right behind me and would slam a lid and just scare me to death!!! All the attention everyone has given me is not something I am used to so that was another thing I just ate up!! It was great!! Honestly I do love it!! As I have said I am jumpy by nature. Growing up the kids at school used to sneak up on me and "goose" me. I think they took measurements of how high they could get me to jump or how loud I would scream!! It was all in fun and even then enjoyed it!! Look forward to this weekend - will spend some time in coney maul then my usual time up front - you know me I don't leave that place until the last slider goes in for the night. Again thanks for being so good at what you do!!! You are totally awesome!! I hope the people at Kings Island values all of you as much as they should!!! Karen
Can I check Assylm out??? Hey what part do you play there?? Can I get a guarantee that you will scare the living daylights out of me?? LOL Got to have that fear portion to it!! I know the guy at the front of the line is in the wrong place. He does so much better at the end!! Miss watching him scaring everyone!! It is going to rain a lot so just might do that - inside and all - so long as those passage ways are wider this year than they were last. It is not hard to find me - big woman in a wheelchair and green coat. Expecting some good scares!! Thanks!!
