Kawana Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Here goes, I've been going to KI for around 20 years. Does anybody out there remember the "Flying Shoes?" They were located, I think, in the general area of King Cobra / Delirium. There were yellow and orange shoes, shaped like wooden shoes from Holland or Denmark or such, and one color would fly out further than the rest. Like I said, this question is for the "Old Timers". Anyway, I loved those shoes. To me, as a 7-9 year old, there was nothing better. Quote
pkikid Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Yes they were over in that area where Adventure Express is now at. I remember that one--that was a fun ride after being thrown around on all day by The Racer and it was gentle and relaxing. Ah yes, I remember it well....Thanks for the trip down memory lane! LOL!! PKIVortex Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 And you may now go to Kentucky Kingdom and ride "The Shoes". Quote
Kawana Posted May 27, 2007 Author Posted May 27, 2007 And you may now go to Kentucky Kingdom and ride "The Shoes". Really? That's where they're at now? Where is this "Kentucky Kingdom?" It may be worth a trip just for that reason. Quote
The Interpreter Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom is in Louisville, Kentucky at the fairgrounds. Quote
odettekitrigisele Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 I find that odd because, I was at K. Kingdom and I don't remember seeing the "Flying Dutchmen" there. I rode that at KI when I was little so I know I would have spotted them at K.Kingdom. Are you sure that they were sent there? Just wondering. ?????????????? Quote
The Interpreter Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 They are there and have been for many years now. Back in Belgian Village by the entrance to Mile High Falls and Twisted ....uh....Twins... http://www.sixflags.com/kentuckyKingdom/rides/AllRides.aspx Quote
Ronnie Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 I remember the Flying Dutchman shoes, part of Octoberfest. It was one of my favorite "relaxing rides" when I was a kid. The actual location is currently where Coke Zone is located and was also the location of Skylab. Quote
