I know that some of you have been to Carowinds, so I was wondering if any of you know of a nice but decent priced hotels near the park. I don't mind driving a few miles to the park, but since we have only been there 1 time I do not know the area very well. Any pointers will be appreciated. Thanks!

Be very careful where you stay. There are some nice and not so nice places around that area. I would NOT stay at the Nations Ford Road exit. I stay on Billy Graham Parkway, over by the airport. There are several nice places over there. Beware, though, the parkway is a speedtrap, and has sometimes had photo-radar.

There are also nice places in the Colliseum area...even though the place itself was imploded today, at the ripe old age of 18!

there was a Holiday Inn like within a mile off it, it was pretty nice (that was 3 years ago though)
