  1. That is why Intamin and B&M are dominating the industry. Arrow, Togo, Vekoma, and others have all had "airtime hills" in their rides, but they never come out right. They've (I & BM) mastered float airtime through the math you're referencing. On a side, the "bump" you mentioned is called "ejector airtime" by a lot of folks.
  2. This last one is really good. Aside from chemical remedies, seat position is really important for me and motion sickness. Since I don't like a rough ride, I never ride in the 3rd row of a car on woodies. Some say the front seat of a car (so named "wheel seat" should be avoided as well, but these are what I go for. They're not nearly as rough as the third row and there's no seatback to block your view (better view helps vertigo and is plain more enjoyably). Also sitting closer to the front of the train will always give a smoother, although less forceful, ride.
  3. There are more than 3 Vekoma flyers in the U.S. Six Flags has the Batwing in D.C. and I believe others in other parks but they may not be Vekoma. This is actually what irked me that this was placed in K.I. Every Vekoma Flyer aside from its paint job is exactly the same. I feel like the park is above getting carbon copied seconds. I understand that they were in a bit of a financial jam, wanted to get more out of their present assets, and needed a quick fix with SOB being out of commission, but I wish K.I. would have gotten something a little more unique. Tatsu looks sweet out in L.A. If they wanted a good flyer, should have thought a little bit more in the long term and gotten a B&M model. Just my opinion
  4. To actually contribute to the conversation. My least favorite is Tomb Raider as well. I felt tricked the first and only time I rode it and was only mildly amused. If the effects aren't working, it seems like it would just be an expensive instrument to waist one's time.
  5. I'm seeing a lot of people listing The Vortex as their least favorite ride because of head knocking. Given the topic you all are completely entitled to your opinion, but I wonder how you've been sitting. I understand that rides with OTSRs usually have instructions posted in the que or stated by staff to keep your head back against the rest. My experience has been that this very thing makes for a painful ride. When I lean forward with my chest against the restraint and head slightly forward, I notice that my torso tends to keep me in place and when my head does move, it does so without knocking into anything. This has been my experience with other Arrow coasters as well as B&M (Raptor, Mantis, Dominator, etc.) and Intamin (Maverick) rides with OTSRs. If you haven't tried this, give it go.
