Okay my friend I are going on Monday. I've only been to Kings Island twice, and the first time I came it was the first time I'd ever been on a rolller coaster (I was 12). I was petrified on Adventure Express, and pretty afraid of The Racer. I am 53'' (shortest kid in jr. high") and I know you need to be 54" to ride like, FOF and Diamondback, etc.

1. Do you think I'd be able to go on these rides though I'm just one inch below?

2. I'm real excited to go on FOF but I saw someone comment somewhere that they almost fell out of their seat... do you?

3. Is The Vortex still open? I heard that its leaving, and I've never rode it before and want to (though frightened)

4. Would it be reccomended for me to ride ANY of these rides? I dont want to fall out and die....

1.) you never know, just measure yourself outside of the line. Most lines have "you must be this tall..." signs outside of the entrance

2.) Simple answer, no.

3.) Yes it's still there, might as well ride it.

4.) Ride them all. They are all extremely safe. Just make sure you are tall enough to ride before getting in line. nothing worse than wasting a half an hour in lin and not getting to ride.

when ever you ride Vortex just push your self up a little bit or your head will be hiting the guard thing that goes over your head. thats wat i do. and all the rides are safe. they've been up for a long time and nobodys ever got hurt.(execpt on sob, but thats a different story) and The Vortex is staying. people say its sinking but its not. thats a false statement

1. If you're measured as being one inch too short, you WON'T ride. But, you could try wearing shoes that have thicker bottoms. Don't wear shoes that have a large heel or one that is even that noticable because the ride ops will make you take your shoes off, and then they will measure you.

2. The only way you would almost fall out of your seat is for the lap bar to not be how it should be. FOF is very safe. It may feel like your about to fall out, but your not.

3. Vortex is still open. Definitely ride it. It is pretty fun except for the headbanging, as someone mentioned earlier. Try riding in the fifth car, and front row of that (the fifth) car.

4. I would recommend riding all of those rides (if your tall enough). They are very fun and fairly smooth (Vortex is just a little jerky). You will not fall out of any of the rides and die (just get a little injured). Just kidding. You'll be fine.

*****When you get to the park, go to the measuring station (go to the left after going through the main gate). They will check your height there so you don't get checked at every ride your height might be an issue. They will give you a wristband if you're over 54 inches.

I've never personally seen them re-measure a kid with a wristband. However, I firmly believe that it's still a possibility. Cedar Fair takes safety very seriously.

You will NOT be able to ride if you do not meet the height requirement. Period. People can (and have in the past, I'm sure) lose their jobs over that. It is a major safety issue and is taken very seriously. If you are so much as a millimeter below the required height, you will not be permitted to ride.

No one has ever died on a roller coaster at Kings Island. As far as I'm aware, no one has ever fallen out of one at KI either. There have been limited instances of it happening at other parks, but those cases are pretty much limited to user error, such as not correctly utilizing all safety devices or not fitting in them correctly such as the man who fell out of Superman: Ride of Steel. You are safer riding a roller coaster than you are walking in from the parking lot, where you might be hit by a car or a bolt of lightning or any other number of things could happen. Many people say they 'feel like' they were falling out of their seat. This sensation is called air time (or hang time if you're upside down). There is nothing wrong with air time, in fact many of us are addicted to the sensation. Your restraint is going to keep you in the train just as it was designed to.

Flight of Fear is one of my favorite roller coasters. Most definitely ride on it. The very very last seat of the train is amazing. Vortex is good, not the best Arrow looper I've been on, but still good. Seat 5-1, as was recommended earlier, is the smoothest. Don't forget Racer, a very underrated wood coaster full of great air time (red side is the smoothest) that is almost always walk-on, and The Beast, still the world's longest wooden coaster and celebrating his 30th birthday this year.

Hmmm... Because I remeber being 51 inches and riding the Delerium, though you have to be 52" and I didnt have any problems. Hopefully I'll be able to rid :)

OKAY. I went yesterday and was EXACTLY tall enough. I refused to do Diamondback and Drop Zone, but I did FOF and it was my favorite! You're right The Vortex HURTS I didn't get to go on the fifth car. But yep it was A LOT of fun. I was shaking before FOF and my hands were tingly when I was done. It was worth the 90 minute wait!

Glad you had a good time. You seriously should have given both Diamondback and Drop Tower a fighting chance though. IMO Drop Tower is one of, if not, the best flat rides in the country. Diamondback is a huge hyper coaster with tons of airtime and one of the best first hills of any coaster I have ever ridden. They are 100% safe and 100% fun. Next time you are at the park I strongly suggest you give these a try, you will not be sorry. Drop Tower all the way!!

Oh yes, I might, but my parents don't really bring me to King's Island. The next time I'll probably go will be like 2 years from now. You see, I HATE big drops which make your stomach feel real weird just HATE it. Then I saw Diamondback's hill and thought no way I was doing that
