Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees
bm0324 replied to jcgoble3's topic in Kings Island
I mean, it was in a different era under different management, so as always, past behavior doesn't always help predict the future... But they did buy five WindSeekers when the ride had literally never been installed at any other park and having no idea whether it would be popular with guests. This is true, my thought was more of "let's not have a repeat of WindSeeker." Because they don't seem to be extremely popular, and suffer from a lot of downtime, and I feel like they'd want to be more cautious this time around. Just a thought. I'm also curious as to whether CF would purchase another one after just buying their first, I feel like they'd want to wait a season to see how guests like it, how reliable it is, etc..being from Gerstlauer, those things can't be cheap. And Canada's Wonderland is often like their "testing ground" for flats. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk -

More intense=/=better. I305 is fast and very forceful, but it's short and pretty lacking in airtime. Fury is more diverse, has great airtime and just a more well rounded coaster. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk -

That's why we're getting a cowboy coaster. Edit: sometimes I wonder if my excessive use of sarcasm makes people think I'm serious and just makes me look dumb in return. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk -

Fury and I305 are also 2 incredibly different experiences, despite both being gigas. They really have nothing in common apart from both being 300+ ft tall and going 90+ mph. Edit: we also don't know if Holiday World paid for exclusivity with Thunderbird. So a wing *may* be out of the question. If they bought it, it was probably with their Pilgrim's Plunge credits. Knott's removed their Screamin Swing last year, CF may just be removing them, kinda like they've done with most of their HUSS Top Spins. When rides start becoming problematic they tend to just close all of them to prevent future issues..Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk -

We all would love to knowSome posters in this thread have a pretty good idea.Anyone seen Ronny around lately? And see I'm not trying to be rude, but some of her comments are so...baffling... That I'm not sure if she's being serious or trolling at times. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk -

Brakes were added to the top of LR, I'm not sure what the actual issue was, I've heard some people saying it was going way too fast, and others saying the anti rollback wasn't working properly. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk -

There was an ejection on New Texas Giant and Lightning Rod at Dollywood is having delays in opening. Texas Giant is the only real issue.Lightning Rod is due to the fact that they're putting new technology onto something wooden. Launched lift on a wooden coaster has never been done before. They want to make sure it's done properly. The launch was made by a third party as well, so that issue isn't fully RMC relatedSent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk -

There was an ejection on New Texas Giant and Lightning Rod at Dollywood is having delays in opening. Apart from those things, Six Flags is capable of keeping them up and running so that's a good sign for reliability. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk -

So in theory, they could do a wing, but it would cost more? Your words confuse me at times, Terp. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk -

Some people have brought up a wing coaster: doesn't B&M have some like 5 year/250 mile guarantee with their coasters, where they won't build something bigger and better for 5 years within 250 miles of another park to ensure the park is happy with their purchase? That would rule out a wing with Thunderbird. Not sure Gatekeeper would count since it's owned by Cedar Fair. I can't remember where I've heard about that, but I've heard it multiple times and it seems like a legit thing based on how their coasters pop up. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
