I think regardless of what we get, Kings Island will stay in the shadow of CP, Giga or not. People come to KI from all over the tri-state(For instance myself from northern KY). I dont think attendance will magically get higher if we go higher than 300 feet. If there's enough to do for families, and teenagers, and just GP in general the park will explode. We don't need a giga just for bragging rights, it needs to be an essential element to the KI experience, not just stats.

I haven't given up, but I am personally trying to be rational and open to other options. If we get something else I'll still be satisfied.

We already have arguably the best hyper, invert and wood coasters in all of Cedar Fair.

I would personally love a Dive in Vortex's spot. That would bring some serious life to that part of Coney Mall.

That makes sense if they're planning lot's of land clearing and topographical alterations. Then again there's still a whole lot we don't know.

I just went to KI the other day, and I looked very close at what they were doing with the trees and dinosaur's area. From what I saw, I didn't really see any trees down around beast, it honestly seemed like there were alot of logs laying around but not really any land clearing. The trees cleared in DA just appeared to be removal of animatronics. The only thing I saw was that it seems like the land cleared behind Banshee seems bigger, but I didn't see any real evidence of anything being built. As I've said before tho, it's early in the season.

I think I see some new dirt behind Banshee, but it's hard to tell with the glare on the camera. (This is what we've come to... intrigued by dirt)

I think that intamins are amazing but from my experience and several times i've been to CP, they break down so much. I don't think Cedar Fair wants the public to think they have another Son of Beast in terms of reliability.

You raise great points, I guess I'm just more nostalgic than most.

You're right, but I think I'd rather have the park build a ground up RMC.

I swear if they RMC beast I will boycott Kings Island. You don't touch my first coaster.

As the park just opened, I think all of us should take a step back and wait before we say it is or isn't something. As far as we know we may never get a Giga. I've been part of the problem of this Giga entitlement thing. I think we all need to wait for a little more evidence before we make any claims as to why any work is being done. None of us are equipped to say what they're doing. We're just average guests who take special interest.

I know, but I figured that's why it's called a Speculation Thread so we could speculate outlandish theories and talk about even the smallest possibilities of the Giga. Also I apologize if I've come off belligerent in any way. I don't intend to, I'm just very opinionated.

I saw them a few on the live cam, and saw on other threads similar reports. I never once said "construction" fence btw. I just think being that all this is almost exclusively in the former dinos area we shouldn't discount it just yet. This forum can be really fun, but everyone wants to discount anything new until fully announced. I think I ruffled some feathers tho, sorry, just wanted to discuss.

Okay so we're just gonna say with bulldozers, fences, and trees being removed that it's all over some bugs. Why is it only being removed in that big open area then and not anywhere in the rest of the woods surrounding the park. (I'm not trying to be a pain I'm just passionate about a Giga)

I've been occasionally seeing a construction front loader around Banshee and the maintenance roads around beast. It could just be for general preparations but hey you never know..

Nah I meant like whats rumored at Cedar Point following the demolition of some of their buildings. Cause whatever that is really affects the Giga timeline depending on what it is.

I've heard about a 2019 CP project. Can anyone fill me in as to what that might be?

All things considered tho, we got four large coasters this year. What's to stop them from doing the same for 19? (also low key just wanna ride a KI Giga before I graduate)

Yeah but that pattern didn't apply to Mystic Timbers. It was built 21 years after the first GCI. There's two instances of this claim, but honesty it's all just complex economics and corporate politics NONE of us actually understand no matter how much we pretend. I'm in for the 19 boat, but I wouldn't nail anything down based on patterns. That's just my view, I don't intend to come off argumentative or hostile.

Not to mention the disney-level themed dark ride section.
