It's not a joke it's factual. B&M doesn't sell a model of coaster called "Giga Coaster". The three gigas they have created are all the "Hyper Coaster" model, but they have the stats of a coaster type that Intamin created which is what we call the "Giga Coaster". Here is B&M's website and you can see the coaster models that they sell. https://www.bolliger-mabillard.com/ Also, you can check Fury 325's rcdb page and see it is classified as a "Hyper Coaster" as its model. https://rcdb.com/12273.htm

Yeah, it's kind of hard to see in the animated picture since it's behind/under a bunch of other track and supports.
-
So to me it looks like we have all supports up for the helix except possibly two of them? I don't see support 3, but it could just be hiding and I think support 12 hasn't gone up yet.
-
My guess is they will try to move the cranes as little as possible for building the helix so they may work from right to left when building it?

It's crazy how much track work they got done this week compared to the rest of the construction. Just looking back at Monday and now to today the entire hill plus some is done and that's not really a short element. I feel like the helix may take longer than a week to complete since there are so many more supports that need to be built compared to the mainly single supports that are on the hill before it, but we will see. Looking at the layout there are 11 multi-piece supports that have to be built compared to the three multi-piece supports on the hill prior. If the crews work on the next two Saturdays I could see them being done by the 31st, but if they don't I think the first (or second if the weather is bad) week of February is when track will be completed.

Also the triangle support just below your arrow looks like it is in place as well.

True, the view from the MT cam looks pretty clear at this point and the hill they are working on currently is just a little bit taller than Mystic's lift hill.
-
Looks like the next support is going up now.

This might be a dumb question, but do we know if all the track is on site yet?

Eye believe you are correct

I would imagine they didn't put the speed hill up before the wave-ish turn because the gap between those support beams is probably big enough to fit a piece of track through it with plenty of tolerance to not worry about it swinging into a support.
-
Yeah, I will reference my previous picture, but they already have what I believe is the first support for the Camelback in place. So it will probably take atleast one maybe two more pieces of track from this support for it to be peaking out above the treeline.

As of me posting this you are correct that you can see some of Vortex at the top left corner... I will say the angle they moved the camera to is pretty sweet. It's the first time we can see how far Orion spans from brake run to turnaround.

Flight of Fear the good bad and the ugly

I thought I always remember FoF slowing down a ton on the MCBR, but I have only been riding it since 2007. I kind of like it slowing down a lot, because it's like sideways hangtime (if that's a thing), but the restraints aren't the most pleasant thing to lean against which takes away a bit from just hanging there. I will say after riding Poltergeist at Six Flags Fiesta Texas this past month I wish FoF didn't have a MCBR because Poltergeist is the exact same layout, but doesn't have the MCBR and it haaaaauls through the second half of the layout. I know they need to have it there to run 3 trains effectively without stacking, but one can wish. -
Some hands just reached out and cleaned the cam off! But it's really foggy out now... Edit: They just moved the cam to not show Vortex anymore... RIP

Hooray looks like the construction has already started back up today as there is a piece of track in the air!
-
I've been watching the cam pretty intently and I haven't noticed any new changes since the last large support went up on the 20th of this month. I would guess construction will resume after New Year's Day, but the forecast doesn't look great for Thursday or Friday so it may be next week before things pick back up again.

From watching the webcam yes, the two crawler cranes were dismantled right after the lift hill was finished, and the final large crane was dismantled a few days ago. Currently I think there are only three cranes which are the two we started with and another larger crane with a boom attached to it. I could easily see the third larger crane leaving after they are done with the turnaround since all the elements following the turnaround are shorter.
