  1. I put Screamin' Demon...but only because it's the first upside-down coaster I ever rode. I rode it in its last operating season at Camden Park, the park that got the ride from PKI. I want to see it back because it has gone into disrepair, and they take pieces off of it to put on other rides. It's a legend, why do that? And they don't even have it over water.
  2. I would have to say I like the speed more than anything. Sure, Sonny's tall...but what makes him great is his speed and inversions. Faster coasters are just funner to ride because of that out of control feeling of not knowing what's going on. I love that.
  3. Well, I took the survey and it's anonymous. I don't work at PKI, but I can't see how they'd know whether or not you took it. They don't ask for a name or anything, just take the survey, don't sign up for the panel. They'd never be able to tell whether or not it was you.
  4. Umm...no. It really couldn't be a clone. For one thing, The Beast is THE LONGEST wooden coaster. That means the actual longest one. Not tied with one. Also, there wouldn't really be any possible way for another coaster to be a clone. The Beast is located in the woods, and bends and twists according to the terrain. The Wild Beast is probably some poor attempt to get publicity for that park. The Beast is one of a kind!
  5. Ewww. No no no. No pop music. I can't stand the stuff at all. It has no...substance. Weird Al is holy by the way!
  6. I don't believe RIP's story, but you all shouldn't be going off on him for it. Come on, we're all PKI enthusiasts here! However, this thread made me think of something that happened to me when I was at the park in June, and though I dismissed it as nothing then, I'm thinking maybe it could have been something? I went on a Monday, and I decided I wanted to ride the backwards racer at about 8:30. It wasn't totally dark, but it was dim. I was walking through the line with my cousin in front of me, and felt something prod me in the lower back twice. I thought at the time that it was weird, but most likely nothing. The thing that left me perplexed was the fact that no one was behind me, and I was walking straight forward. It isn't really scary, but I don't think I'll ride the backwards racer after 5:00 or so.
  7. Wow, I'm going and I'm so excited! I live four hours away from the park, but I'm still going to go. The woman from the travel channel says that we get to stay all day, and I am psyched. I get to ride TR:TR without having to wait in line and I get to stay all day! I will make sure to tell everyone about it too. I bet that it's great.
  8. I think that they really should have put it somewhere else, but I understand that there are reasons why they couldn't. I was annoyed with the SoB photo because for one, I was not intimidated by the hill, and two, my picture was of me smiling and almost looking like some terrible travesty of Kelly Osbourne. I could have cried.
  9. I for one can see clones of Delirium being made. I was a little disappointed with it, I thought it was going to be bigger, but it was fun. It only went about as high as The Beast hill. I was thinking it would be more of an SOB hill size. It was still fun though.
  10. I personally don't think that Vortex needs new trains. I don't think it's horrible 'rough' either. I'm 5'5" and it didn't jar me horribly at all. However, Monday when I went it did cut my ear open. I wasn't even wearing earrings! I turned me head going through the corkscrews or whatever they are so I could say something to my cousin, and my ear hit the shoulder thing and cut it. I was mad. It didn't bleed that much, just a scratch, but I was mad all the same. They need the OTSRs like Face/Off has so that it doesn't kill you when your ears hit it. In other words, they need some padding.
  11. Oh, sorry didn't know. I'm a newbie, you have to excuse me sometimes. I found it now, thanks
  12. Well, I would have rated it clean if I hadn't sat in bubble gum, been on a ride with someone who had a nosebleed, and got some dye or something from The Racer seats on the backs of my calves in one day.
  13. On average, would you say that Mondays have been uncrowded this season? In other words, when I go to the park what is now technically tomorrow, will I have to wait forever to ride the hardcore rides or will it be less than a 20 minute wait for them. This is, of course, hypothetically speaking and on average.
  14. I'll agree that PKI needs a major steel coaster, but as I've never been to Cedar Point I can't say which is better. My devotion to PKI tells me that I would probably say King's Island no matter what, but that is slightly biased. Still, PKI needs a good giga coaster.
  15. I don't know if it's supposed to go faster, especially at the tops of the loops. My physics teacher said something about it, I can't think of exactly what. I slept during that class. Something about centripetal force? Also, am I the only one who has never experienced any headbanging or severe discomfort on The Vortex? I'm 5'5'' could that have anything to do with it?
  16. Yeah, and the war is not really a war anymore anyway. We're trying to create a government for them right now aren't we? That's what my uncle told me. But anyway, do you know if the military discount is only for active duty? Because my dad got out on honorable discharge for an injury.
  17. I'm going to be at the park Monday, and I would like to know which employees work at which rides/restaraunts/sections of the park. Could you all please tell me where you all work and if you'll be there Monday so I can look for you? Also, do any of you all work FoF? I plan on riding front car and would prefer not to be stapled as I was last year on The Racer. That hurts when speed picks up ya know! Also, if anyone works TR:TR and Drop Zone, you'll see me alot. I love those rides! Thank ya!
  18. I was sure that it was possible to reach a top speed up towards 180, my only concern was with the time period it took to attain that velocity, and the 400+ foot hill. It seemed that it would throw the human body off balance and cause people to black out. But now that you all have explained it to me, it makes a bit more sense.
  19. I've never been to Cedar Point, nor do I really want to. It's just a big park centered around rollercoasters...I love rollercoasters, but I'm the only one in my family who does. PKI has something for everyone. It has The Racer which is my mom's favorite ride and the only coaster that she rides at will, and the kid's section for my little sis. I hear that CP is nowhere near as diverse.
  20. I know that we can withstand alot, but in under three seconds...it seems that someone riding it would pass out. There are some rides out there already with such intense g forces and speed that riders briefly black out...wouldn't shooting up the hill cause something of that nature to happen?
  21. I really liked your ideas for the park, but I have a question. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but can the human body withstand attaining speeds of 150mph in under three seconds in a rollercoaster car? It seems to me that there would have to be some new technological advancement for this to work. Otherwise, unless they were covered cars people would be severely injured. The g force would be too great, wouldn't it? Otherwise, really awesome ideas. The Drop Zone one is great, and PKI does need a gigacoaster.
  22. I rode in the front and the water got me fairly saturated. When I rode in the 3rd row, I still sort of got water on me. That was the first time I rode it, and I wasn't really sure what was going on. I thought someone was spitting on me or the roof was leaking because it was raining a little bit. It hit my face and I thought the roof was leaking...lol don't ask. I'm not blonde, but my whole family is.
  23. I saw a picture of TTD, my cousins live in Sandusky and they have season passes (lucky people) and I live 3hrs away from PKI in Ashland, KY. Well, they said that it was just one hill, and I knew it was huge. They said it was the tallest...idk how true that is. All I know is that some ride at Cedar Point was supposed to be second tallest a few years ago. I don't really follow them that well. Oh yeah, and I get to go to PKI Monday! I am overjoyed!
  24. Well, actually there WAS a war. There really isn't one now, but there are still troops over there. Most of them are back already though, most active duty's going to be back in September or October. My uncle's over there
  25. I would take out The Vortex (It's awesome, but getting old and it kills you the day later) and put in Top Thrill Dragster, that new one at Cedar Point. It goes over 300 feet in the air and falls at a STEEP angle. I would love that. It doesn't take up a horrible amount of horizontal space either, it would fit.
