  1. Do they not have enough trash cans? I remember going to Cedar Point this year and seeing NO TRASH on the ground or anywhere. There were trash cans EVERYWHERE though.
  2. As I recall, SkyFlyer USED to be terribly expensive...WAY more that a mere $10 per person. I would do it once just to say I've done it. As for SlingShot....holy crap. I can't imagine being thrust almost 300 feet in the air in a small cage attached to two thin steel towers by four cables. I'm sure it's a hell of a rush - I can remember hearing people screaming their arses off. It's definitely fun to watch that thing fly, especially at night.
  3. The only B&M rides I've ever ridden are Raptor and Mantis, both at CP. They are truly great rides...smooth, fast and very powerful. I really want to try out a B&M floorless and speedcoaster. I'm sure that I would love both since the company's stand-up and invert are high on my list. I'm still going to go with Intamin, because of their products. Millennium Force just plainly kicks arse along with Dragster and Wicked Twister. PKI has a couple Intamin flats and water rides, so why not go back to such a great company for a coaster? Intamin will build taller, faster and longer as needed.
  4. You know what I just realized, is that all this upgrade/repaint/repair stuff we talk about costs money and time. No doubt PKI knows all of the stuff we talk about needs to be fixed sometime, but it's almost overwhelming to me. They are definitely going to have to stretch all of this stuff out over a period of a few years... Maybe it's a "revamp" phase the park is going through right now - it makes sense to me. The park just revamped the fountains. Maybe painting is next? Who knows? Maybe I'm just nuts, but they could have a multi-year plan laid out to revamp "damaged" parts of the park.

    2005 Poll

You really think that anticipation would grow more if PKI held off the coaster until next year? If that's true, they might as well just never build a new one! That way, we'd be soooo excited about getting one in the year 2017, it would be CRAZY. PKI is NOT going to "rush things" to build a non-world-class coaster. From the park's experience, I think no matter what they build from now on, they will do TONS of research before paying...notice what happened to SOB? I think that really gave the park a good backhand to the face. Whatever we get for 2005, I have no doubt that it's going to be of very high quality. Even as I think about it, Delirium and Tomb Raider seem to have been holding up to the elements very well. Huss is a good company and PKI did their homework when they researched into those rides. (...gets off of soapbox...) I can't wait to see what we get, because I'm sure it's going to be a great ride (whether it's a coaster or flat ride) that will be very rerideable and very reliable.
  6. I'm sure PKI will paint the Eiffel Tower when they see fit in the budget and in the aestetics. I don't even notice the "bad rusting" and "faded paint" that some people say they see. I think that most people don't notice it at all. We are PKI's toughest critics. As for Drop Zone, I think that it will get painted before the Eiffel Tower. It used to be really bright in color when the ride opened for the first year, but now even I look up to the top and say "someone needs to 'retan' the tower's skin."
  7. Wow....it's crazy to think that THAT (PKI's official web site in 1997) was a "professional" business web site. These days, a kid my age could make something that could look better than that.
  8. Yes, yes, yes....here it comes....maybe use that area for a tight turnaround for a new coaster? It won't happen, but that amount of land is sufficient and it would be kinda cool just to watch a rollercoaster train FLY through a sweet curve there...CP did it with MF at the end of the ride, and you can't forget that nice view of the batwing on Vortex...
  9. Mine (at least that I can recall) was also Beastie. I remember the days when putting up my hands at the top of the hill and through the bottom took HUGE amounts of courage. That mammoth hill was so tall back then...today, I'm all hands-up on TTD (...as long as you thrust your arms up right AFTER the launch starts...lol).
  10. How much money is profited off of that Days of Thunder ride? I always seem to see all the cars just sitting there and don't see very many people use the ride. In addition, the ride crew seems to keep the cars running all day...petrol isn't free...
  11. I think what PKI Punk meant is that he thinks it will draw people to the park that live further away than most people who visit. It's my guess that he thinks BB will draw more people that live FARTHER AWAY.
  12. Delirium will forever (well maybe not forever, but for a long time) rock on!!! Is it just me or is Adventure Express in Oktoberfest?
  13. Dispite being a bit painful for the men (guys...you know what I mean), there are few reasons it shouldn't be on top. The theming is great and it makes the whole ride worthwhile and almost helps the ride take you through a story. Plus, the ride is an indoor establishment, so how many people could hate such an adventure in the dark?

    2005 Poll

PKI could pull of something REALLY good in more boring terrain if they added smooth flowing tunnels...that is if they put tunnels in the terrain that looked like they would have been there no matter what. For every coaster problem, engineers and architects have a solution.

    2005 Poll

Placing a coaster back by White Water Canyon would be a plus in my book. Not even I ever thought of that as an option. As I recall from riding the train and WWC itself, that area back there is very densely wooded and would make great terraing as long as the park didn't take out too many trees.

    2005 Poll

Aren't all inverted coasters floorless? Maybe I was told wrong, but in all of the times I've ridden Raptor or Face Off or even Runaway Reptar, I don't recall a floor being on any of them. Maybe you're think of a floorless suspended? Some coaster out there that is/was an Arrow Suspended got new floorless cars...that would be cool to see on something like Top Gun. It won't happen, but anyone can have a dream. I'll still stick to my guns and say something either B&M or Intamin...something that you sit down on/in and either has a floor or none at all (what are the choices? ). The track will be below your feet and the coaster will most likely reconfigure the PKI skyline.
  17. I'm confused. Are you asking which area has the best crew/crews or which area is the best? As for the crews, my choice is Action Zone. I have to give it to them...they seem to be the happiest with what they have - Action Zone doesn't particularly have the prettiest representation. It reminds me of a cement desert - not to give the area a bad name. They seem to move people in and out fairly quickly and keep that end of the park from being backed up in the queues. Kudos!
  18. Delirium is my choice - I don't know of any other place where you can get onto a giant pendulum that swings AND turns at the same time with such force. You can ride it with your friends, and it's not like a coaster where if you have 6 friends, it's a little more difficult to have the same experience. I love that feeling when it's in full swing and turns JUST ENOUGH for you to go face first into the ground...those 4 Gs make you feel like your face is going to just slide right off your head. Few things beat it. My second vote (if I could have one) goes to FoF...it was the world's first LIM launched coaster, and is still one of the best launched coasters. Not quite the same as TTD, but the feeling of riding a giant knot of tightly twisted track in complete darkness will keep FoF on top in my book.
  19. How would they do it? Would they film them at another year-round park and not show any rides? Would they bring in a bunch of people on a nice clear warm day to PKI before the season opens? I could see how it would be easy if the park was already open, but how would it be easy if the season hadn't started?
  20. I would assume something like that. When PKI runs TV commercials, they always have clips of kids and the characters. Maybe that would be a good way to introduce new charcters? The problem is that they would have to find a way to film those clips in the park with people.
  21. Paramount's Kings Island Coin Toss Scholarship Fund...It has some wonderous ring to it. At least that money is put to something that the park's workers can smile about. Yes?
  22. The A-A-Angry Beeeavers...that was a hilarous show. Bob the Builder would probably be easier to do that the Angry Beavers. The thing is, some of these shows that have famous characters take a real quick life...some are a huge hit and then six months later, nobody even remembers them. Many don't have those depressing lives, but for the ones that do, it's bad times.
  23. One word: Delirium. It was the first ride of the season for me last year...I hope to make it a tradition. That is the best flat ride in the park and is one of my top three of them all at PKI. That Huss installation was def. a step in the right direction. What a rush.
