  1. I can only imagine the outcome of that situation then.
  2. I'm still debating about whether or not I want to see this. $30-$40 is a lot of money for a show like that, but it does look interesting. There is of course the flooding issue again - with all this rain we're supposed to get over the next several days, it could be a bit more difficult to get to Coney from points west.
  3. Twitpic won't let you show the full image on external websites - the URL includes an access key and a timestamp indicating when said key expires. That's why those images stop working after a short period of time. The best you can do is embed a thumbnail, using the "Put this photo on your website" code that they give you, like this: <a href="http://twitpic.com/4ns37q" title="PHOTO: Work has begun on building the queue for the new 301'... on Twitpic"><img src="http://twitpic.com/show/thumb/4ns37q.jpg" width="150" height="150" alt="PHOTO: Work has begun on building the queue for the new 301'... on Twitpic"></a>
  4. No surprise there. Will be interesting to see what this guy tries next.
  5. The most likely reason is that it wasn't officially sanctioned by KI. I'd actually be surprised if the person running that page even worked for KI to begin with.
  6. You can view the rest of his videos at http://vimeo.com/coastergeek101
  7. Hopefully I'll be able to make it out there again this summer. I had a blast there last year.
  8. I certainly hope not. I'm really enjoying this and am hoping to find time to dig through our family photos to see if I can find something to contribute
  9. The WindSeeker2 image hasn't been working for me for a week or more now.
  10. If you mean this, it's a radio tower: Lots more info at http://www.necrat.us/wlw.html if interested.
  11. They may have been selling it during the Rock Band Live shows, but it wasn't sold in any gift shops to my knowledge.
  12. On the subject of Racer's original paint scheme - I asked them about that last season before 5@5 abruptly stopped, and the general consensus was that it would be far too costly to repaint the ride that way. If only we had unlimited funds to restore some rides to their original glory (*cough*carousel*cough*).
  13. I don't find any coaster at KI scary either. Vortex and Invertigo tend to be the most intense for me though.
  14. That's the way it was last season. I rode Slingshot several times because of that policy, and will likely do so again this year. I'm not a fan of Skyflyer though (Drop Tower is a much better value - you drop towards the ground from several hundred feet in the air at 60+mph, but it's not face-first and you have more time to enjoy the view, plus it's free).
  15. That would be a really cool place to see. When you say "has been sealed off," do you mean like the tunnel has been completely closed off by concrete, or is there just a door type thing where you can get in? Where was the entrance to this tunnel? The entrance to this tunnel is just to the right of the Speed Pitch game there in Coney Mall. It's not very noticeable, but if you look closely, you can see it.
  16. Sounds more like they don't like the idea of a flea market cluttering up their neighborhood. Notice how none of the board members can agree on a good reason to reject the request: The third reason is what makes me think they would find this tacky. Why should they be concerned about other businesses requesting similar variances? Are they that swamped with work that they wouldn't have time to look over said variance requests?
  17. I'll be sure to print off proof from Paypal before I go the first time so they can't claim that I didn't renew if I do run into problems. I just have a gold pass so hopefully I won't have any trouble.
  18. So you still need to go through processing again if you renewed online?
  19. I'm debating whether or not I want to go to this this year. I missed it last year but was there in 2009, though I found it hard for me to drag myself away from the rides long enough to enjoy the shows. The main reason I'm considering skipping it this year is that I'll be going to Nashville at the end of July and don't really want to request so much time off of work in the same month.
  20. I did look before I posted this, but as KI just posted that on their FB page yesterday, I assumed that the video was just recently posted as well, so I didn't search that hard for it.
  21. The only thing that's likely to change is the number of times I ride Racer - I'll either ride it more often (due to being in that part of the park more frequently to ride WS), or less often (due to it being close to WS and therefore attracting much larger crowds than it has in the past).
  22. Beast, Diamondback, WindSeeker and Planet Snoopy. The first three are obvious - the park's two biggest coasters and the new ride. Planet Snoopy because it gives families and those who aren't big on coasters/thrill rides a place to play, without them having to be there on a specific day (like they did this past season).
  23. Thanks for the informative and very interesting post Ty. I have vague memories of riding this as a kid, but didn't know the full history of it, nor did I realize how long it lasted.
