I preferred the 'Tiques to the Backlot Stunt Coaster. While the coaster is a nice ride, there was something about letting my little one drive the old cars, and she is only tall enough to ride the Stunt Coaster this year. It was a nice slow paced relaxing ride with a lot of mature trees and great scenery. I'm sure it was very labor intensive, I imagine KI can run the coaster with a lot less associates and a greater throughput than the cars ever had.
  2. Thanks for sharing your photos! Post #10! I have lurked here for a long time, and I've always enjoyed reading all the great stuff on here. After I stopped working up at the park I really didn't visit much. I went three times in 2006, once in 2007 and once in 2008. After getting in for free for twelve seasons it's tough to have to buy a ticket (or season pass). We are buying passes this year, I'm ready to spend a lot more time at the park in 2009, and my daughter is finally old enough that I don't have to hang out all day in Boomerang Bay or Nick Universe. That's the other reason for a lack of PTR's, I don't bring the good camera normally and we tend to hang out by the pool all day. Not too interesting, and people look at you strangely walking around the waterpark with a big camera. I can't say I have that much of a real life, any more than anyone else on here. I'm just a lapsed coaster junkie who's ready to get back in the game. Glad you liked the photos. -Matt
  3. While the weather just barely cooperated, it was a great time at Kings Island for the KIC crew and our special Diamondback tour. I enjoyed meeting some great people from here, and it was a lot of fun getting a sneak peek at the ride up close and personal. I took a couple of photos, I'll try and post the ones that are a little different than all the other great shots I've seen on here already. I am looking forward to getting to know you guys better this summer and on here. Thanks to Dane and the KIC folks that make this stuff happen. I know it's a lot of work and preparation, and I'd like to say I appreciate it. 4. Nice TR, Giga. Your new camera is a nice improvement over the camera phone. I was the guy who snapped the photo of you and keiko, I'm glad you liked it. I'm ready for it to be April 18th so we can all get a ride on this amazing machine. Now I've got to get my pics uploaded.
  5. Nice TR, Gordon. I was the "gentleman" you were talking with about the antique photos. It was great talking to you, I apologize for not properly introducing myself. I was a little preoccupied with Diamondback. Your photos turned out well, and it looks like you guys had a great time at Jungle Jim's and GWL. I'll see you guys at the summer event, unfortunately I'll miss Ride Warriors weekend due to vacation. I'll look for you this summer. -Matt
  6. Your door has carpeting on it? Awesome...
  7. I was going to drop them a line and thank them for the tour. It's really nice that they allowed us to come and see the propery, and it was very impressive. Do any of you guys have an email contact for their PR department? -Matt
  8. I just bought one of Raptor66's tickets. Is there any more information on this event other than meeting at 3 pm near the employee entrance?
  9. As a vendor, I assure you they can't just do what they please. We still have to get permission from PKI full-time staff to close early, etc. It's not quite as easy as you might think.
