  1. The QEW is always busy, there has not been a trip without a traffic jam on that road.
  2. http://www.wkyc.com/longform/news/local/geauga-county/2014/05/19/geauga-lake-from-icon-to-eyesore/9279255/ Also tonight WKYC TV-3 Cleveland will be airing a story on Geauga Lake durring the 6pm newscast.
  3. There was the great experimentation of Auto-spiels at the Point. It started with Millie when she first opened, by 2004 most rides had them, by 2008 they were mostly gone. For the most part I didnt kind them, others however believed the world was ending without talking ride ops. My favorite was White Water Landing with the fiddle interludes, however I still cringe when Corkscrew's randomly pops into my head, that voice was annoying. Humourously, durring that same time CF got rid of auto-spiels at Geauga Lake and had Talking ride ops.
  4. ^I'm more concerned about the 89 year old Miller acrcoss the lake.
  5. Last year I stayed at the Red Roof at Mason-Montgomery. It was very enjoyable.
  6. Developers eyeing up the property. Some want part of the land, others want the whole parcel. http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20140511/SUB1/305119983/developers-are-sizing-up-massive-geauga-lake-land
  7. ^but are they there all the time, in the past they have not been consistent.
  8. Double Loop at Geauga Lake. It was also my first overall as well. The height restriction at the time was 42". Which then I had the awkward stat for a while that the only two coasters I had been on had inversions and had to wait till I was 48" to ride a coaster with out.
  9. Avoid the Flying Coaster and former Top Gun, unless you want to be in pain.
  10. ^is parking collected on a regular basis through out the day?
  11. A few updates from opening day. -Gemini and Mine Ride got new individual seat belts instead of bench belts. Now Mine Ride is even more difficult to fit into. -FUN TV ruins the individual atmosphere each of the big rides had. No more 80's music in Magnum que, no old western themes for Maverick, no Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! for Dragster. Now all the queues feel generic and not unique to each ride. Humourously, only half of CPLERR got TV's as Frontier did and Main did not.
  12. Everything should be open, the only issue may be with water rides if it's too cold.
  13. Rembered something, LE Eagles has the child proof seat belts. Thus making inloading a slow go has an op has to unfasten them.
  14. It was a little warm, but enjoyable. Here are some highlights. Lake Erie Eagles - The ride I was most excited about lived up to and exceed my expectations. Those little birdies could fly, just couldn't get them to snap. If you shall get to the point this summer, dont miss these Eagles. However, the have a wind tolerance issue. Pipe Scream - Just like Surf Dog, maybe a little faster. Gemini Midway - Good bye asphalt and dated 70's look. The entire midway between Witches Wheel and Snoopy Bounce has been updated. New lights, speakers, paint and brick side walls. It is very nice, particularly the new lights which will make the midway pop at night. My only complaint is too much blue in Monster's new lights. Gemini - front porch has been severly shotened and replaced by a sea of concrete, also now has water dummies for testing. Camp Snoopy - Many rides have recieved fresh paint, including Woodstock Express. Also the theater has recieved a canopy. Wilderness Run - The new paint almost blends into well with the trees, and the entrance is hard to find as it blends in with the theater. Crabfries - Delicious, and highly recomended. Name Tags - All white, no more light/dark green, red, blue or gold. Pet Farm - Expanded, now with either alpacas or llamas! I was to tired to figue out which. Other notes -Parking directors got new uniforms, the new starbucks looks good, the merch at Joe Cools Corner did not change, no restrooms appeared to be updated, a new Fool the Guesser building across from Millie's entrance, a Coke Freestyle was put in infront of Albert on the Frontier Trail, and Finally a craft beer and wine bar replaces the toy cabin on the trail as well. As for rides, they open up Blue Streak (1st rider!) and Millennium Force. Thats all I can think of right now, if i think of more i will post it. Also any questions, feel free to ask!
  15. The rezoning issue has passed. http://www.auroraadvocate.com/news%20local/2014/05/06/aurora-multi-use-zoning-issue-schools-renewal-levy-portage-park-district-tax-pass
  16. It better come with this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRadp_bvqRs.
  17. ^Yet Kennywood, Knoebel's, and Waldemeer can keep up their dark rides.
  18. Millie and Dragster did both open on time believe it or not.
  19. Reminds me when this played on the original Qtvs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJWJE0x7T4Q
  20. ^If you have extra time on that trip, Idlewild Park lies between the two. Or only a little detour to Lakemont and Delgrosso's, and Knoebels is not far from Hershey either. Meanwhile, I will be following the arrow on May 31st, so perhaps I will do a trip report, since it seems to be a request.
  21. https://twitter.com/TonyClarkCP/status/462308983403851777/photo/1 The oddness of Tony talking about Tweety in Cedar Point.
  22. ^I found Villain to be quite delightful actually. To me it was smoother then SOB and Mean Streak. Also I did ride it all through out it's history from May 2000- September 2007, never during that time did I find it rough.
  23. Yes, I rode SOB in both configurations. Even in the back it was more enjoyable the Hercules.
  24. Hercules was the most painful coaster experience I have ever had, and the only coaster I swore ever to ride again. To put it in perspective, I find Mean Streak enjoyable.
