In my KI experience, every move done "IN a season" has a big reason. I don't believe the "shade" tagline. If they've moved, they've moved for a higher reason.

making room for that new announcement I'm sure....

I honestly have no idea, but I'll throw a wild stab at it. My guess is that there is some type of control room at the top of the tower. Perhaps for the elevators, or the lighting system requiring AC units to keep the room in a controlled climate. Excessive heat + heavily used computers= bad things. Ding! Ding! Ding! As a former Tower sup, that is exactly right. And there is NO room for couch or keg anywhere up there, other than on the platform guests have access too.... Sorry, long time, no write!! It's great to be back!

Eiffel Tower Stairs & Have you worked the Tower?

Whoops. I added too many zeroes upon looking at the document not 100,000 but 10,000 You must remember that the tower can get anywhere from 20 to 30 trips an hour (2 way) so multiply by two. And as supervisors, we could be working from 6 hours to 16 hours on any given day. And seeing how long the season is. MAXIMUM OF 70 HOURS A WEEK. D -

Just the 50ft prior to the 1990s. And all the way down ONLY as a last resort emergency. Trust me, you don't want to do it. D -

That's right, I was an Eiffel Tower supervisor for 3 seasons. 314 ft tall. 410 steps. platforms at 50 ft, 265 ft, and 275 ft. Eiffel Tower Green paint (originally). Having walked them once in my life, I believe it. In my last season I traveled well over 100,000 miles in that elevator. I was a nerd that calculated the distance, times the number times up and down per a day, every day I worked (gotta love excel!). Boy do I miss it at times... -
Women who are more than 200 usually cannot fit MF and TTD, when they do, its even more uncomfortable. This is because we tend to carry our weight in butts and thighs. Men can usually lift up a pot belly and click the seat belt, that doesn't work for women. So far I haven't had any issues with fitting on rides at PKI, the only tight fit is Racer and Beast, with the stupid seat divider they added a few years back. I think the amusement park coaster manufacter needs to tread lightly on these things. I can seriously see a lawsuit for discrimination against larger people on the horizon. Lord knows, we have seen lawsuits for even more crazy incidents (ie: McD's coffee, etc)

Thats not true either. Look at magnetic pole reversal. If you don't know, look it up, but its once permenant in thousands of years. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth's_m...field_reversals

No its not, but it may be natural instinct. Ive heard an operator say and act much worse. Having heard worse is really not an excuse for this incident. Improper is Improper. Lets see how you react in heat of the moment with an experience you are unsure of or unfamiliar with. I think he did fine, and to be honest with you, either way its not an easy situation.

It freaks people out, to hear that when they first work on the tower, but once it happens to you, you're a pro. I used to supervise that ride, and I used to be really afraid of things like that, but then it got to be when they did happen, I had the experience of knowing what to expect. Kudos to Chris!

I can think of a few people that got promoted to full time manager within the last few years. Although rare, it does happen. And a few that have gone to other parks as well....

Wendy's has a promotion in Cincy too, so probably in Col too

This is the very FIRST year the band organ hasn't played. Unfortunately, do to its age, it's has been having problems for several years, they stopped it this year, to hopefully, as I was told, fine tune it. Haha. As for the paint, even if we painted it every year, people would still chip it off.... go visit the tower, you will see what I mean. As a former supervisor of that ride, if you don't like what you see, make sure you tell someone in a white shirt (either at tower or carousel), gather up associate names.... I loved hearing about my people, when I was supervisor, positive and negative, because I can't be there all the time to know what's going on, and its not like I would have people that would tell me this!! So do Todd and Robyn a favor and tell them!
