A Five Year Plan You Decide
CoasterXtreme, I think you have some good ideas with connecting Area 51 to Action Zone just not sure how it would be done. I think Area 51 could connect to area that now has F/X theatre and F/X theatre removed for Camp Snoopy. The park is large enough to have two kids areas.

A Five Year Plan You Decide
I agree but, every year the public expects some kind of new ride or two. Look at the history of Kings Island, new attration year after year. I understand not all at once. This is over five years not just next year.

A Five Year Plan You Decide
So is that all we can come up with to help Kings Island?? No more wild or extreme changes. There is a lot of unused space to grow the park. We all have one dream ride or rides we would like to see them add, what would that ride or rides be???????

I agree 100% bring back Skyride and install a Ferris Wheel.

They could add a Skyride that instead of going just one way back in forth be shaped as a triangle. One stop kids area, another stop in Action Zone and another in area between Vortex and Beast. That way the accident they had could never be possible again due to them never being close to another gondola or whatever it is called. It adds a ride to three areas all at one time. This is an idea since Train cost would be very cost prohibited.

The family emphasis could be taken to ways. The Extreme is it is Disney or it means adding rides for everyone. I like the second due to Kings Island's heart and soul is Rollercoasters. They can add some gentle rides and extreme rides just do it at an even pace. They also need to upgrade entertainment please do not have shows where the singing is lip syncing. Original talent and roving entertainment is fun and helps the overall image of the park.

Coaster Extreme it is not that I do not like your ideas. It is that I like the Viking Ship and it's placement and I do not think getting rid of Scooby ride for a Soarin ride is feasible it would cost to much and you have a different demographic of people at Kings Island versus Disney. Disney is catering to young and old but, Kings Island is a more extreme ride park. I think all ideas should be on the table and hopefully Cedar Fair is listening.

Not disagreeing with PKIFAN but, the idea that pay-per-play rides have to be spead out. I remember at least twice last year when parents were complaining you pay this much to get in and everywhere you look they have an attraction that needs more money. It is upsetting to some people. Me it does not bother but, why not try to maximize profit potential and put all together.

I disagree. I think those people who are going to ride those type of rides will go to those rides. If it were between water park and kids area it would get all the picnic people too. If it were accessible to people at hotels it would do just as well or better. Provided they put a hotel on that side also. A hotel like Breakers Express. A large value hotel would have more teenage kids and college students due to cost.

One thing that seems to be bothering some people is removing Sky coaster. I think it should be relocated not destroyed. It makes more since to put all pay-per-play rides together in an area you could use on edge of or from future hotels then exclusively by park patrons. You have to look at chances for more possible profit down the road.

A Five Year Plan You Decide
Congratulations. Ya know ya won the important fight. And always remember, that it's gonna be friends and family that are with you in the end. The job is just a means to an ends. In the long run, there will always be another one. Ya only get one life. Thank You WooferBearATL Friends and Family have been the reason for my turnaround and a girlfriend that has stood strong through all this and a divorce that took 31 months right in the middle. You do get a new perspective on life when you are told 9 months or less or major surgery. I am minus 2/3 of right lung and 1 rib but, I am alive. Thanks again for the kind words. Now back to the Park. Great ideas keep flowing, hopefully someone is watching...

New Season Fever
The best Sledding is at Perfect North Slopes in Lawrenceburg, IN. You slide down and they have a moving floor to take you back up the hill to try again.

In Oktoberfest Bring back show stage in Festhaus with German Folk dancers. Clean up fountain outside entrance and add an additional flat of some kind. In Rivertown retheme TRTR to logging theme of logs being thrown down the mountain side. Add animation back to the train ride. Add shops like the Frontier trail at Cedar Point. You could even add a topple tower going along with the rivertown theme. International Street bring back International flair in shops. Take shops back to the time when there were true craftsman with International offerings. Add Light effects to Tower. Redo International Restaurant to ADA standards and have a reasonably priced restaurant in there. Rename Paramount Threatre back to American Heritage Hall. Bring roving entertainment back to International Street. If ecah set of buidlings had a set theme such as French, Spanish, English or whatever have some type of entertainment based on that culture. A museum based on park history with a small scale model of the park with models of all the rides on it would be really cool. Kids area is just fine for now with the exception that they need to reopen and have shows in outdoors theatre. Waterpark needs another wavepool and another action lazy river that you would not have to get out of after only one time around. Area between kids area and waterpark has picnic grove on lfet why not on right have all pay-per-play attractions and add mini-golf. This gives something extra that large groups could use also it could have an entrance so that people outside the park such as future hotels guest could use with out having to go in park. Another area is the FOF and Firehawk area. This area is could be site of most ambitous new coaster country has ever seen. An area large enough for any type of steel all terrian super speed coaster. Also a great area to expand all the way to around end of Racers. Where current Sponge Bob 3D theatre is, remove it and add a Camp Snoopy. Now there is an ambitous hopefully thought out view of what I think the park could do.

what is the most missed ride?
If you miss the tanks head to Wally World in Liberty, In. They have the same type of thing there.

A Five Year Plan You Decide
Since I started this topic, I would like to refine it a little. What would you like added and where to each section of the park. Example--Action Zone move Go-Carts and Sky Coaster and have Ferris Wheel and Giant Swing. Coney Island--remove trampolines and laser tag building and have Wild Spinning Mouse. These are just a couple examples of what I mean. I still think moving all pay-per-play attractions and adding a mini-golf to area between waterpark is a good idea. What are your thoughts??

New owner making changes at Kings Island
What would be nice, is if each section of the park could have some kind of entertainment. Non-riders need something to do while riders are waiting in line. A show of some type near FOF and Firehwak would really help. Just a thought and I agree Karaoke is not entertainment. It can be cruel and unussual punishment.

A Five Year Plan You Decide
I agree that the park really needs an overhaul in paint and landscaping. The rides will come as attendance and revenues increase. Go slow but, do it right. I really think Cedar Fair is a company that will return the luster to Kings Island.
-
A Five Year Plan You Decide
Some really good ideas. At least those who have responded, understand that the beauty of old Kings Island needs to return. As in flowers and landscaping. Lets hope this is being read. I love this park and only want it to improve every year. I hope they bring back the Clown Band or whatever it was that used to roam around the park. Keep those great ideas flowing.

A Five Year Plan You Decide
If Kings Island were to ask you the Park fans: What would you want in 5 year plan, What would you say? 2008--Add a flat or two near FOF and Firehawk 2009--B&M Inverted and new slide in Waterpark 2010--New Flying Eagles and Miniture Golf 2011--Intamin Mega Coaster and and a new slide in Waterpark 2012--Ferris Wheel and replace Sponge Bob 3D Theatre with a Camp Snoopy I know this is sort of a wish list but, you never know who is watching and reading and may just say, That sounds interesting. Have fun and give me your thoughts.

What does PKI need to take the next step as a theme park?
I have a question does any one else have a problem with the steps on the family raft ride in the waterpark? The steps have a cover that really hurts the bottoms of your feet. I know of at least two people who will not go on that water ride due to how bad it hurts your feet.
-
What does PKI need to take the next step as a theme park?
I agree that both sky flyer and Sling Shot are popular but, it is to much to ask people to pay to get in then pay for are these extras. Move them all and add a mini golf and also move go carts to a new area between rides and waterpark. Call those extras challenge park. That way there is something to do on walkway to waterpark. Just an idea. Then you could put a couple of gentle rides like a ferris wheel or something in Action Zone.

What does PKI need to take the next step as a theme park?
I would like to begin this by saying Kings Island is already a World Class Theme Park. Saying that it could and does need a little love and care. The following ideas are for increasing per capita spending and overall love for the park. 1. Food: This needs an upgrade in a couple areas. A. The park needs more indoor restaurants so that a family can sit together even when it rains and have a nice reasonably priced meal. B. The park needs to add at least tacos, this has to be one of the only places left in America that does not have a mexican menu. C. Cheese-On-A-Stick we need it. Enough Said. D. REASONABLY PRICED FOOD. E. This will help keep people in the park, instead of leaving to go outside for lunch or dinner. 2. Entertainment: Paramount killed this area and it once was great. A. Roaming entertainment. Remember the Kings Island Band... B. Unexpected entertainment such as jugglers and dare I say it a mime or two. Unexpected entertainment makes people feel they are getting more for their money. C. Keep the crowds busying and you will have less vandalism. 3. Looks of park: How a park looks in photos is how others who have not been to work see it. A. Keep areas newly painted and clean. B. Replace black top with cement. C. Clean and well maintained restrooms are the most important. D. Every employee needs to help keep park clean, as do loyal patrons. 4. Rides: Maintain and increase safety and reliabity of rides. A. Fix Son of Beast and do not open till it is done right. B. Keep all the rides in park and add more year to year. C. Remove pay as you go rides and add good rides. It sounds like double talk but, I am trying to say the Sky Coaster, Sling Shot and Trampolines need to be replaced by rides you do not have to pay extra to ride. D. Add rides that the whole family can enjoy also such as bringing back Antique Cars and a new Flying Eagles. E. Think about adding some gentle rides to Action Zone. F I hope as we all do that we get Hyper, B&M and another wood coaster like (Voyage at Holiday World) but, not until it has been well thought out and added on Cedar Fairs schedule. It is more important to have a great park not a bankrupt park. I know this is a long list but, Kings Island is the park I call my home park. I love this park and only wish I could help it more. Here's to a GREAT 2007 and many more years to come....
