  1. I have a similar situation (one son over 54, one son under 48). The taller one doesn't want to ride the kiddie rides and the shorter one gets mad that he can't ride the bigger rides. I would NEVER leave my 5 year old where I couldn't see him at all times. My advice would be to take them on seperate days. Have the one who doesn't go stay at a friends house.
  2. My son and I are trying to decide if it's worth the 4 hour drive (down on Friday afternoon) in that we have to return home Saturday night (Mother's Day for my mom and my wife). I love The Beast and Backlot is fine, but I really don't enjoy Vortex. If we can't do RWW and Gold Pass ERT on Diamondback, I'm begining to think it's not worth it for us. (We were just there for opening day as Diamondback auction winners.)
  3. So, what time will Diamondback open on Saturday/Sunday? Does Season Pass ERT still happen (9 on Saturday, 9:30 on Sunday)?
  4. I believe the problem here isn't necessarily being "fat", but rather having "thick thighs". I am 6-6 255. I've never really had any problem with any ride restraints. The first time I rode we were in the first 2 seats of the last car. The attendant had to "forcefully" push the restraint to get it to the "safety" line. The ride was not much fun with no airtime at all. The second time we rode, we sat in the first 2 seats of the second car. The restraint went to the "safety" line easily and I had an inch or so to spare. The airtime was amazing! I know when I rode Hulk at Island of Adventures they had special rows for tall people. Is it possible there are rows on Diamondback for larger thighed people?
  5. I had an interesting experience with the lap bar. The first time I rode (during the auction rides) I sat in the last car, first middle seat (is that 8-2 or 13-1?). Anyway, the attendant had to physically push down on the lap bar to get it to lock and I was in tight. There was no air on the ride and I was hugely disappointed. The second time, I sat in the second car, second middle seat (2-3 or 3-2) and there was plenty of space after the bar locked and I got huge air and really loved the ride. Are there specific seats for larger theighs or perhaps I was just sitting differently the second time? I wanted to add that both times the safety indicator line (or whatever it's called) was at the same place - just visable.
  6. I came home for lunch to find a message from Eric at King's Island saying I had a winning bid. He told me to call him back at 513-754-6223 (which is no longer in service). I then called the number the call came from 513-754-5802 which went to a voice mail message from an intern who said he didn't work there anymore and instructed me to call the 800 number. After 20 minutes on hold I got an operator who had no idea what I was talking about. Her supervisor said she would call someone and have them call me back. I have to leave the house for most of the rest of the day and we are leaving first thing in the morning for GWL. Does anyone have a number I can call to confirm my payment? Thanks, Eric
  7. My son is currently 46" tall. I assume at some point the summer he will surpass 48". My question is how do I handle a season pass? I'm planning on buying him a Junior pass, but do I have to upgrade when he reaches 48". Do they measure Junior pass members at park entrance?
  8. I have put in bids for my son and I who both have Platinum passes. Since each winning bidder receive an "admission ticket" to the park can I give these to my wife and other son (under 48") who would like to come that day as well?
  9. Thanks for all of the advice. My son and I had a fun, pain free weekend!
  10. Wow! Thanks everyone for the input. I've never really paid attention to where I've sat and had some rough rides, so I was nervious. Hopefully, with all of the information provided, it will be a great day! Thanks again.
  11. I woke up with a sore neck this moring, but promised my son we could go to KI on Saturday. Can someone PLEASE tell me the best place to sit on the following coasters for the smothest rides? Adventure Express The Beast The Racer Vortex Flight of Fear Top Gun (does it matter?) Thanks a million!
