I, too, am addicted to The Beast. My son and I got our first night ride in last time we went on 7/15. It was so much more fun in the dark! The ride was the smoothest we've ever had as well!

Yes, the handheld scanners still show your picture. I don't think hardly any of them actually check the picture though.

It was implemented on Sunday when we were there. My 4 yr old was playing in the 2 inch water in front of my wife when a lifeguard came up and told her he had to put on a life jacket.

I was there yesterday and closed yet again. In the 7 years this thing has been around, I've NEVER ridden because it's ALWAYS closed when I go. I think I'm cursed, lol.

Glad to hear you had a good time. Are you sure it wasn't your first visit since 2000 though? Because Son of Beast didn't open until May 26, 2000 and you said you miss the loop. Anyway, nice little report.

Screamin' Demon - That ride was great as a child!

I was there a couple of weeks ago and saw a kid not able to ride the Jimmy Neutron’s Atom Smashers™ because he was just over the 54" limit. They let him get on initially, and then before starting they had him get out of the ride to check his height. His parents were pretty mad to say the least. I also saw them not letting a lot of kids on rides because they were JUST under the ride height requirement. I'm glad to see them enforcing the height restrictions personally. Carowinds has wristbands you can get for the kids to denote what height restrictions they fall under. I liked that a lot so my kids didn't get the stick when getting on a ride. I haven't seen that available at KI in the two trips I've been there so far this season. Can someone let me know if they do have that and I just missed it?
