  1. In the latest press release on PKI.com for Boomerang Bay, this is stated: "There are more surprises in store for 2004, with additional exciting announcements to follow in the months ahead," Ross added. http://www.pki.com/corpinfo_press_boombay_release.jsp Im gonna go with other speculation and say we will probably see a new flat, and maybe other minor changes around the park.
  2. Perhaps HUSS can supersize it?
  3. I would love to see WinterFest back! I remember only going once as a kid, but it was great! It may seem silly to some since there arent many rides or things to do like in the summer, but here in ohio during the winter what is the alternative, shopping? I really thought the lights on the tower were neat. And it would be nice if the indoor rides were open, IMO. -Scott
  4. well, in all seriousness, water in the lazy river may be of better chemical quality than aquafina... City water for drinking is regulated and controlled alot more than bottled water.
  5. With all of the other parks already having made their announcements, and considering we are talking about PKI, Im thinking PKI is gonna get something major besides just a waterpark remodel. It could be a new coaster, another giant huss, or even something major for the waterpark (as in, something new or record breaking...) Just my thoughts...
  6. One more: - Just this year, a woman on Top Gun suffered a heart attack and died at the hospital. (Very sad story...) Arguably, PKI was not at fault in any of these accidents...The unfortunate accident in which the two men died in Oktoberfest was due to a malfunctioning pump...but something like that would be hard to detect and I dont think we want PKI to pull inspectors and maintenance staff off of the coasters and rides to check out the fountain pumps and other trivial scenery equipment...
  7. Well, If PKI wanted to modify Top Gun, Im sure they will find the engineers and the company willing to do it (Arrow or not). Of course it would cost PKI quite a bit of money, and I dont see PKI investing a whole lot into Top Gun unless its a major change (as in, enough to really attract people to the attraction and thus the park). Personally, I like Top Gun, it may not be a major thrill but its a nice breezy ride on a warm day when all the other lines are long. Now if only the walk back was shorter.....
  8. Thanks for correcting me...It does seem like it would be a total maintenance disaster and if let go it probably would have resulted in injuries or death...is a shame because it looks like the best suspended ever designed (asiding the lack of banked turns) That reminds me... RCT's suspended coaster lacks banked turns...hmm...
  9. Didnt something happen on The Bat as well? Not that I am anywhere close to being old enough to remember (I would have been 4 when the ride closed) but my parents told me some people got killed on it...leading to its short life at the park...
  10. I can remember going in early 90's (When they still had the safari monorail) and The Vortex line went down coney mall...usually 1.5 to 2 hours.... beast line was around 1-2 hours in the day, 2 or more as it got darker. All the rides that have been added in the 90s to now have really helped spread out the lines...making things much nicer. My girlfriend hasnt been there in years...she prefers CP but doesnt like PKI because of the "lines"..I think I need to take her back to PKI since the lines are soo much better anymore. While on the subject of lines...I welcome a new water park (if thats what they are doing for next year) so all the kids will all be drawn over there while I walk right on to the thrill rides
