  1. Terp, while I agree most would be huffing, puffing and snickering. I am still not the a fan of parking lot coasters, i.e. Intimidator at Carowinds (I do like Dominator at KD), I feel that Gatekeeper will give a better experience than the typical parking lot coaster. Gatekeeper, will make riders feel like they're going somewhere, passing the beach, passing over the main entrance, close to Blue Streak, etc. where as the typical parking lot coaster wraps just around the parking lot and the returning track passes by the same track the riders were just on. I know that Gatekeeper will do a little bit of both, but feel I think it'll be a much different experience having the fly-throughs and inversions.

Might I also add that they are actually putting GRASS under the ride.

But then again, those were just renderings...

  2. Maybe KI would be lucky of such type of coaster reaching out front. One can only dream.

Maybe not a coaster that reaches out to the entrance of the park. But maybe one that reaches out to a certain midway...

    Only one can dream.

  3. Gatekeeper is not only going to be a thrilling attraction, but it is also going to improve the entrance of the park. It is sure to be a spectacular ride while on it, and watching it on the midway.

Sometimes a coaster does more than just add to the coaster count.

  4. I remember very clearly in 5th grade, my dad let me skip school on my birthday, and he took me to Kings Island. I rode Vortex over and over and through the corkscrews, I would scream "this is way better than school!!"

  5. Not for the 2013 season, I'm thinking 2014. Much like the Rivertown revamp, land was cleared and some stuff was moved in order for footings and such to be prepared for the next offseason. They could be removing the water tower and those awful posters before this season, just to get it out of the way.

  6. I think if Kings Island ACTUALLY tries to make this a popular ride(repainting and such) it will become a popular ride.

Why would new paint make it more popular? Also, it was repainted not too long ago. Also, you don't know the associated maintenance costs, throughput capacity or any other factors that go into determining if keeping such an attraction is beneficial.

Why don't you remember? The waterpark was repainted and look at that popularity. :P In all due respect I don't think that Flight Deck is on the chopping block for a long while, it is the only swinging inverted coaster in the park.

Flight Deck is one of the only swinging inverted coasters left in the world.

  7. I just pooped a little because I laughed so hard.

    Its the freakin internet...

    I love you TG.

Happy New Year to you, too.

(If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem)

And Terp, I'm gonna disagree with ya on this one.

    EVERYONE BE FRIENDS.

  8. I'll go ahead and place my idea.

I would absolutely love a new Rocky Mountain coaster. In case anyone is wondering, they are the people that designed the New Texas Giant at Six Flags Over Texas, Outlaw Run at Silver Dollar City, and Iron Rattler at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. I think it would be a fantastic new addition with the loss of Son of Beast, that gives the look of a wooden coaster, but rides like a new B&M. Oh yea, and they have the ability to go upside down. I'll leave a couple pictures and a video to show a visual of what their rides are like.
