I bet its going to be a huge water park expansion for the water park with a huge slide complex. For the theme park, improvements, and maybe a new ride or two. Holiday World also needs more bodyslides in my opinion...wait a min....Holiday World has NO body slides come to think of it. Atomic Pipeline Proslide Complex maybe coming to this park.

I remember back in 2007 on Flight of Fear, this guy behind me in line had a basketball. When I got off the ride I went to the On ride video souvenir shop, and once my video clicked off, the guy who was standing behind me video had clicked on. The guy had one hand in the air with this basketball in the same hand while on the ride as it launch from 0 to its max speed.

Straight Forward IMO, and many others who walk into my job at work tell me, "Holiday World isn't worth it at all". Yes it's fun when you first arrive, but maybe for an hour or two. The park is basically a place for Kids 10 and younger. If you do choose to go, you better ride every single water water slide, if you don't, the boredom will strike faster. Go Kings Island or somewhere else worth the drive. The only way Holiday World would be a park to travel, is if they offer some thrill rides.

I bet its just him with a bunch of papers rolled up in his arms. But a new coaster? no...The Wildabeast in my opinion is Holiday Worlds last most recent coaster addition even if its water. I also believe that ride was the second most expensive ride in parks history? (I don't even like the Wildabeast! is not worth the wait. Deluge at Kentucky Kingdom is better and worth the wait). However, I wouldn't be surprised the see them add a new slide complex with a Tantrum, or a Tantrum all by its self.

before the park adds a new coaster, or a major coaster, they must fix Son of Beast as we all know. The price to fix this coaster would cost just about the same as a brand new one.

When Ed Operated the park in the 90s, one of his private investors (liberty bank) was bought out my Bank One. When Ed approach bank one about being a private investor, they said no. So Ed Hart had to make a decision in 1997 to sell or closed Kentucky Kingdom...and I bet you all know the rest. If something was to happen to a private investor, your park could be gone. However, I believe and I have a gut feeling If Ed really wants the park to open in 2012, he has to start seeking private investors, and thats what I think he has to do.

The height really varies on the direction of the airports runways. Where Twisted Twins is located, the limit is about 80 ft. That ride is in direct position of the runway. When your father away, the height limit jumps.

The land the park occupies today has a 200 ft Height Restrictions. 200ft is your average height for marquee type ride. With the new land, I bet the park could build ride near 250 ft.

The city has the $$$ for the park, but doesn't want to put the money through since the state has declined to put their half forward this year. The city feels, if they put up their half, no one would come to the park outside the state. The city wants the state to put up their money first to open the park as a whole instead of segments. City bond (15 to 20 million) = 3/4 New Flats, New Water park, Rehab Buildings/Rides State bond (25-30 million) = 1 or 2 brand new Major Coasters, Rehab Rides, New Park Entrance, New Flats, New Parking Lot Many people here in Louisville and Kentucky are highly shocked by the city's decision. Everyone is wondering when will Kentucky Kingdom reopen. This is the state #1 Tourist and money maker for the state! The state seems to want us to spend our tax dollars in Ohio, and Indiana, and Tennessee! We have no casinos in Kentucky, but we have one right across the bridge in Indiana, we have no amusement park, but one in Indiana and Ohio, and we have nothing to bring NO ONE into the state but the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Derby Festival which is only 2 weeks! Someone please tell me what does the airport have to do with the park? & The park is definitely not landlocked everyone. The Park also has so many open areas in park.

The KKRDC has been very busy these last couple of weeks. It seems they are making an approach to Representatives in my opinion. They have yet to answers questions to the amusement park authority.

I want my kingdom back...hopefully something happens now and quick. Maybe private investors "IS" a bad idea...

He possibly will run it with private investors for the first couple of years and constantly try to get state backing. Plan B could also be his plans from the beginning, not opening the front side of the park, twisted twins, etc, and just expanding the waterpark its first season. When it comes to the rides, those rides has been rusting and rotting for years. If the park never closed, I'm sure those rides will be in the same condition they are today rusting and rotting. However, their are people inside the park maintaining/preserving all the rides, beside paint.

The news just said, if it doesn't get approved their is another plan by Ed Hart. I wonder what plan "B" will be. Maybe he has or will get private investors.

All their is is hope. If the state isn't backing up the Kentucky Kingdom park, I bet their will be plenty of controversy especially because of the non-amusement park, Noah Ark religious museum project. The state of Kentucky has seen Kentucky Kingdoms economic studies provided by the state its self, but the state has yet to see Noah Arks studies. With Noah Ark, half of the hotels and business or money, will go to Cincinnati. It doesn't make since paying tax dollars on an amusement park, but why make us pay tax dollars on a Christan park? If you were Jewish and you had to choose between Kentucky Kingdom and Noah, which park would you want you tax dollars to go to?

Does anyone realize that just about every job from this park, and every hotel room will go to the state of ohio?

well... From what I've heard from years past, Six Flags owned more land then many of us even think. They just never expanded the park and went to the bigger parks. Right now, their is plently of land to build a major coaster. The coaster is projected to be on the small side of the park. This is where I believe the parking lot will be located Here are some expansion areas I believe the new coaster may go if the park get a final approval.
