Family Outraged After Quadriplegic Marine Denied Free Admission to Michigan Amusement Park
This seems better than the alternative. Parks like Indiana Beach where there is only a small fee to get in but if You do feel like riding a lot its gonna cost you. I like the idea of paying one price to get in for All the rides and attractions.

Hola KIC, Well before yesterday my wife Candie had not gotten one ride in on anything this year! This has been tough on both of us. Even though I had such a great time this year I've constantly been looking over my shoulder expecting to see her. She has been working extremely hard to better herself in many ways, and can't find much time for park visits. I had enough OT saved up to take a day off, and it so happened she had the day off. We kinda left in a hurry not having any plans ahead of time other than deciding to go the night before. I knew this would help relieve some stress and she wanted to finally ride Diamondback since watching construction of it last year. So we dropped the kids off at their (extremely cool) summer day camp, and got to the park around 9:45. We stopped at Cinnabon first thing shared a cinnamon roll and bought a refillable cup. Which I have about four others at home and always forget to bring one. Sat down next to the fountains and enjoyed. Snapped a pic of the now famous rubics cube. Diamondback had about a 30min wait. We requested front seat and were graciously granted it. I looked over several times and she was smiling ear to ear. She stated she really liked it but still likes Firehawk a little more. FH being her favorite coaster at KI. Some things I noticed waiting for DB. Five people line jumped while he was checking his watch. JK They have literally every model of cell phone. I couldn't get a picture of it, because I noticed it on the ride. There was a cell phone on the catwalk next to the track on the turn-around into the station. I'm still a little puzzled on how one got there. From there we rode Beast which we waited 20min for. Candie having lost 65lbs since last year was very happy with her new fit. Although she said it banged her up a bit more now. From there she insisted we head over to FH. I have very bad luck with this ride as almost every time I get to where they take you back the ride goes down. Well we got past that spot about second train wait. It wasn't a break down I noticed at that point, but a woman got off shaking o her arm and shirt (there was no rain). I already knew before they made the announcment. Someone lost there cookies. They mine as well said Sean is in line so we decided to shut it down for awhile. And this would be the first of several delays. Well after a half an hour we rode. I have always loved this ride but unfourtunate down time has kept me away. As we got out in the open area of the exit the phone was ringing and maintnence was walking down the ramp. We were happy to get our ride in. The park was getting busy for a Tuesday with a chance for rain. So we took a chance at Racer the line was around 20min. When we got closer we noticed they were running empty trains on both sides Running out of time (had to go by 4pm) I still wanted to ride DT and SOB. We got in line for SOB which filled both ramps. Waited all the way to the station and it started to sprinkle. I really hoped they wouldn't close it for such little rain, but that phone rang and sure enough they did. It stopped sprinkling 20min later but we continued to wait an additional 20min. Still not even testing yet and seriouslly running out of time I noticed pretty much everything else in the park was running including DB. So we decided quickly to head over there while we still had time. We waited 30min and rode second seat. We had a great day and Candie finally got her honorary ride on Diamondback. On the way back we stopped at Friscious Big Boy her favorite place to go in OH. Mines Skyline but we have a few of those here. Here's a couple more pics. This is what I call the reverse photo opp. I had to watch this bird for awhile for I thought it was fake. Waiting for SOB to open. Empty trains sitting idle practically dry. Bueno adiós señoras y señores. señor Sean- Absolute WORST park-going experience of my life!
I like how Cedar Point's signs also list their definitions of line jumping.- SFOG

From what I've read and seen JJ seems worth a visit. It would be nice to see the Old monorail again. I always rode in the back Did you buy any of that crazy meat? I wander what a Camel sirloin tastes like?- kings dominion new coaster in development
Yes. HTCO, who just HAD to... They used to have a display board showing the riders their speed. It is no longer there.- Flying Objects
This is me and IBEW Sparky on opening day. The lady in front of us had her purse over her shoulder. I was holding it down the entire ride. I wasn't really afraid she'd lose it but it kept flying up over her head and coming down and smacking her- Flight commander question
That's what I remember most about that ride is my friend Brandon turning it upsidedown and leaving it upside down the entire length of the ride. I was pretty scared and only rode it once. And I do remember the line being pretty lengthy.- kings dominion new coaster in development
From the pictures it looks like more steel and work went into the track sections than past designs. I'm still sticking to the idea this design was not to save on steel cost.- Absolute WORST park-going experience of my life!
That is just crazy. What shoes were they and when was that? The late 80's were a crazy time. The shoes I was not allowed to get were the Jordans at the time.- Absolute WORST park-going experience of my life!

Which is what I was trying to get at last night. This will save on future development. Not right off The Bat though. Is steel cheaper than it has been in the last few years? Yes. Is R&D cheap at 350,000+? No. Will it save $$$ down the road? Yes. Is this innovation at work? We will see. Not certain it is what everyone thinks it is. Will the savings be past down to the customer? With Intiman spending on R&D it will only mean savings for CF. Was there alcohol involved in said post. Yes But in the end I would hope the R&D $$ would go for something more than saving $$. Like smoother rides, or rides that require less maintenance. Or maybe rides that take up less of a footprint. Oh yes and the Staging thing. Staging can be found on most job sites anywhere. I've known the concept of staging since I was a young boy when my father was involved in building an amphitheater in Iowa. Way before I'd even ridden a coaster.- kings dominion new coaster in development
Steel is still a lot more expensive than 10 years ago, although it is down quite a bit from last summers completely inflated prices. R&D on the double spline probably wasn't that high, it seems like a pretty obvious evolution if the need presents itself. For example, say they had 3 engineers working on it for a full year with a full burden rate of $55/hour that is still only $343K. That would be made up for pretty quickly with the reduction in material and labor costs on the supports. Of course I don't work at the company so I don't know for sure how much they spent on R&D, but compared to projects I am familiar with I doubt they spent millions on it. Would they really save Millions by spreading out supports? I was just stating that it seems more like something they might do for space or special design, but to save cost on steel? And as stated I'm not highly educated on bulding coasters. Still not gonna keep me from posting a couple cents though.- kings dominion new coaster in development
Steel isn't at an ALL time low, but is relaitvly cheaper than years past. Reasearch and Development is not cheap by far. These coaster designers are just thinking outside the box. Mabye somewhere down the line it may pay off. This coaster will just be innovation at work. And if anyone, it will save CF a FEW nickels.- kings dominion new coaster in development
