  1. On the turn going up into the MCBR
  2. O yeah The Racer is something to be a fan of.
  3. Its not like there are cliffs back there. I agree it is not flat, but I don't think it would cost a lot of money. Bulldoze here and there and your set. O and the go carts need to be updated maybe to a different area and a better track maybe throw in a idk RIGHT TURN???? WHAAAAAA???
  4. Yes my bad the front... I have only been on that piece twice this year, and once stuck. They really made it one of the worst rides this year, hopefully next year they can program a decent ride experience and hire somebody who can theme. As much as a bare floor with a drain is scary, they can do MUCH better.
  5. Last year the cars were stored inside FOF, this year the back row of tomb raider was stored instead. I have no idea where they stored King Cobra cars for this year.
  6. FOF has ok capacity, on a good day its about 430 people an hour give or take. Most I have seen was 35 cycles with 550 ish people. That was a record in at least 3 years.
  7. Plus the metal teeth that prevent the train to rollback on the hill if the chain stops.
  8. That picture confirmed a non cable lift? Pictures before showed the start of the lift with chain segments right next to it... Ha found it... notice the chain below lol http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...post&id=154
  9. I think having a bridge would be a bad idea... for some reason it would just look out of place.
  10. When roll backs occur, it is not good for the computer system. Unless a ride op has figured out a loophole in the system, they can't cause a rollback on purpose unless they somehow close the brakes through the launch area while the train is traveling through it. But 99.9% of the time, it is random. On Flight of Fear there is a glitch and you can about the launch but other then that they do not have any access to close brakes when they please. Only to release them when a train is in the position. Example would be to bring a stopped train into the station. The control panels are very easy to operate and is foolprof in a sense. Yes you can abort the launch on FOF. But ride ops can also stop the train in the brakes by E-stopping the ride if they need to, which is what I was referring to in my origional post. I am very familiar with the control panels and know how these rides operate. You can stop the launch brakes without the e-stop, but even if you did use the e-stop maintenance would have to reset it. So it would be pointless to hit it. (unless a real emergency of course). Trust me I know how they work too i work FOF lol
  11. Unless the winch wire snapped, in that case it would have been closed until they could fix the problem.

  13. Sorry but I don't believe you have ever had a rollback on Flight of Fear The cobra roll would not cause you to roll back because if the train was not going fast enough the LIM motors would stop and the brakes at the end of the launch tunnel (before the cobra roll) will stop you. The only other stop would possibly be the hump over the block brakes but then you wouldn't have enough speed to roll back through the cobra roll and stall somewhere. Unless Kings Dominion operates differently....I assume it doesn't but you know what happens when you ass-u-me. So could you explain more...
  14. Well Kings Island does have a university. Its called KI University and that is where you trained. As for building roller coasters out of stuff.... no
  15. If the train aborts the launch the LIM motors stop, and the train rolls to a stops in the launch brakes before it gets to the cobra roll (there is a set of brakes just before the cobra roll). Then the fun part comes where you have to push the train back to the station! O and I have had a guest ask, "Do you work here?" I have my uniform on and a name tag.
  16. I wonder how many G's this thing will pull at the bottom of that hill. Looks fun.
  17. Ha ha do you really think an associate could give you free passes? Send me a PM i will hook you up
  18. No, There is a waiting area after unload and before the loading station. The train launches the waiting brake train then comes in and loads. Then the Unload train goes into the waiting brakes. And there you go. Before you launched the train you would make sure the return tunnel was clear so it wouldn't stop up in the block brakes. When we have just one person checking full train on the "driver's" side the train at unload is unloaded and is sent into waiting before the train launches. O and if you ever ride Flight of Fear PLEASE buckle your seat belt. Or at least find it
  19. It would, I would know i work there. When the train launches usually people are about half unloaded. If there were trains in the waiting brakes capacity would be higher we could bring that train right in. Although I'd rather not have it for obvious reasons.
  20. Oh, so it was coming too far into the "return tunnel" for 10 years before they changed it? Thats what the maintenance guy said when i asked him. Plus i think they are going try and get a third train on, stopping the train up top gives more time.
  21. They stop FOF up top because it was coming in too far when it hit the return tunnel. Plus it makes it slower and not as rough on the way back down. And The Beast has always had trim brakes on the way down the first hill and in the "brake shed". When it was first opened it used skis that popped up and slowed it down. Now they use magnetic brakes.
  22. Then the website needs to say height and not lengths, so really nobody knows the length or the angle of accent because the figures are not there. I guess it is just time to wait and see.
  23. On the Diamondback website the length of the hill is 222' feet, and the length of the drop is 215'. Some reason i think those numbers are wrong. I think the length of the hill is higher from what i have seen first hand. Plus if the lift hill is 230, then the length would be 230 (or longer) if it is a 45 degree angle. X = Y (45 degree angle). Hopefully someone understands my ramblings lol Edit: I forgot the station starts about 10 -15 up, still the ride levels out up top.
  24. The base might not be 100% accurate though and the picture is at an angle.
