1982 - Viking Fury. Love the ride. It's great to hit around lunch time after going around the park once and needing a short break from the thrill rides before starting a second round. But I learned last season to NEVER end up sitting next to a group of 3 young girls. I was already locked in when they piled in next to me. It was like a tea pot going off in my ear every time the ship went up. Instant migraine.

VVEERRYY!! That bright orange track is going to stop me dead in my tracks like a deer infront of high beams as i admire its awesome glory, possibly drooling a bit. hahaha I'll See you in 13 days Vortex!!! And for the record... CF wouldn't invest the money to paint a sinking ride so hopefully the rumor will die now. But if Vortex were to sink I'd go down with the ship and ride her right into the ground!

Hi all. Long time reader, first time poster. Last summer was my first time visiting KI. I hadn't been on a ride in over a decade. So first thing in the morning Drop Tower and Son of Beast scared the bejesus out of me. After that I was scared on every ride and even refused to ride some, though I did enjoy Flight of Fear and AE. Finally toward the end of the day my wife talked me into getting on Vortex. Here's how she did it. She asked me to just walk over to the ride, look at it, and think about it for a while. I did that and it only made my fears worse. But then she said, "look at those LITTLE KIDS riding that ride! Those little kids are more brave than a big tough guy like you??" I rode Vortex (in order to keep my last shred of dignity) and I loved it so much that I got right back in line. Went back to KI two more times last season (rode everything), already bought gold passes for 2009, and have spent the off season staring at the DB webcam and reading the KIC forums. All thanks to that one ride on Vortex. So yeah, if all else fails try attacking her ego haha. worked for me!
