I picked Millie too mostly for this point. Having the privilage of attending CP on Opening Day for Millie way back when, it really was an amazing scene at this ride. I've never seen more people run towards one ride (Except maybe Dragster) than when the gates opened that day. I was able to ride it in the morning and at night and both times, the reactions from people getting off the ride were EPIC. That day is an experience I'll never forget and it was all because of this ride.

I think steel track is the only way to salvage this ride. I also think that with steel track, it'd become a quality ride again. Certainly not as good as DB or Firehawk, but probably right behind those 2. It'd definitely get me to come back to the park sooner.

What if (fill in the blank) was not at Kings Island?
ajbt1981 replied to coasterguy15's topic in Kings Island
What if Diamondback never came to KI? I would have never came to KI last year for the first time in 5 years and the 3rd time in my entire life. Thank you DB, it was totally worth it. But not as good as MF or Dragster (Whomp Whomp). -
X2 is my absolute fav roller coaster and its a shame that there isn't that type of ride in the Ohio area (Although Firehawk comes close). I recommend any and all East Coast peeps to venture out there at some point and ride that ride! Also, Tatsu and Goliath are amazing, as well as Scream.

Let's just keep it simple here: Arrive at the park whenever, ask for Challenge parking at the gate (Which will direct you to park near Soak City and enter the park there, near the Magnum), and do a nice counter clockwise trip around the park starting at the Magnum and ending at TTD.

Look at the bright side, the park NEEDS to have some crowded days so that it can continue to stay open. However, given that it was a Monday, that's pretty surprising to me. In regards to line jumpers, its clear that those people are obviously more important than the rest of us NON-line jumpers, so I keep my mouth shut and simply deal with it (Insert sarcasim here).

I disagree with the point that you had a right to complain. Since the guy doesn't like you, the comment he made to you was done simply because of that. It had nothing to do with you being a "guest" in the park. It had everything to do with the fact that he didn't like you. Instead of complaining to guest relations about it, you should be complaining to your friends or asking the guy what his problem is with you.

I'm sorry, but I'm a little new to this whole board, so I don't know anyone here. SkaterBoy, do you actually work there? Or did you used to work there? I'm a little confused about the part in your initial post that said you had to help Patrik when the GP came. What did you help him with? And you went to the park to B.S. with some of the employees there? How do you know them? I'm just a little confused in general. It seems like you know some people who work there, so its more of a social thing for you as opposed to an amusement park thing. But then, you decide to complain to Guest Relations when someone snaps at you. What's the deal?!

How good is this ride in comparison to Cedar Point rides? Better than Millennium? Dragster? Magnum?

Cedar Fair has a very similar issue with Diaster Transport at Cedar Point. I always get frustrated when I ride it because, with a little theming, it could really be a nice ride. And, would it really be that much trouble to change the theming of it every 3-4 years? For instance, DT could have a "Haunted" theme for the next 3 summers, than switch it up to a "Exploration" theme. Doing this with The Crypt would be difficult, how?

Cool, thanks for the help, I'll check em out

Hey peeps, Could anyone suggest a good hotel to stay at? I plan on coming down for 2 nights in August and I'd like to have a hotel that's within 5-10 miles of the park and isn't too expensive (Under or around $100 a night) Also, I'll probably go to the park on either a Wed/Thurs or Thurs/Fri during the last week of July or the first week of August. How bad will the crowds be? Finally, I was lucky enough to ride Tomb Raider (which I loved) before the sale, and now I've read all kinds of bad stuff about The Crypt. Did they really remove most of the effects? And is Backlot Stunt Coaster even worth it? Or was that ride screwed after the sale as well? Thanks for the help. I'm a HUGE Cedar Point fan, but I've only been able to attend KI 3 times so I'm not up on the info.
