Sounds awesome. 10 million dollar investment! Wow.

found it HURRY http://www.wlwt.com/...964/detail.html Nice, thanks!

That's for sure! KI's "major" is bound to equate to "disappointing" to a lot of enthusiasts.

For what it's worth, I was speaking with a friend of mine at work about the big announcement. He lives in Mason and he seemed very confident that the announcement would be about BB. I asked him if he had any inside info and he refused to comment beyond, "That's what I've heard." Not sure if he actually has an inside track, but he seemed supremely confident. If it's not the water park like he said, he's going to hear about it later this afternoon!

My kids love their Snooy cups. They are impractical, but adorable. I like my Diamondback cup a lot.

Something I felt like mentioning about souvenir cups...
lebeau replied to CedarPointer's topic in Kings Island
I had a question about souvenir cups at my blog the other day. This was my response: If you have a cup with the words "Kings Island" printed on it, you can get refills just like you would on a new souvenir cup. It doesn’t matter how old the cup is. I have been using my 2009 cup all season. Ice water refills are free and essential on a hot day. Soft drinks are $1.99. You can even have it filled with Icee for $2.99. Also, they offer souvenir snack buckets. You can refill these with popcorn or cotton candy for $2.99 each. It’s not uncommon for us to start with cotton candy and refill later with popcorn or vice versa. I won’t go so far as to say it’s a steal. But for theme park prices (I bought a $4 hot pretzel last week) it’s a really good deal. -
Sorry to pile on, but dude... 1. You should have known better without being told 2. You should have listened when you were told 3. You ignored security twice. Sorry, but it sounds like you deserved a dressing down. Not to the extent that you described maybe, but then I have a hard time taking you at your word when your own description (which should in theory paint you in the best possible light) shows you to be in the wrong.

The last time I rode Diamondback, the kid in front of me had his phone out the entire time. I couldn't fully enjoy the ride because I kept watching his cell phone in case it became a projectile and I had to take evasive action. Also, based on the OPs lack of common sense I seriously question his characterization of the ride op as rude.

Thanks. It helps that she is a ham for the camera. On our last visit, she struck a pose and my wife said "You have her trained." We did indeed have a great time as always.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.

That's very sweet. I know our trips mean a lot to me. Thankfully, Josie's going to have lots of pictures (and souvenirs) to remember them by. Currently, she doesn't go anywhere without lugging that big Snoopy around with her.

What a great day. It really was. As long as you came prepared to beat the heat, it was a perfect day at the park. I can't remember the last weekend it was so empty! No kidding. People watching was very interesting. And this was just within the bounds of Planet Snoopy! I hate to think what was going on over in Boomerang Bay!

It was a hot one, but we had the park all to ourselves. We drank ice water out of Snoopy-shaped refillable cups and rode the Woodstock Express at least a dozen times. Check out the full report with lots of pictures here at my blog: http://lebeauleblog.wordpress.com/2011/07/11/kings-island-trip-report-071011/ Warning, some things which are presented in this TR can't be unseen! Thanks for reading!

My wife got this deal in 2009, but it was only offered on a few days. The only reason I knew about it at all was I already had my own pass. Last year was the only time I remember them offering it to everyone and for an entire month. And it was so cheap! If they offer the same deal again this year, jump on it!

She was just posing. The fact there was a trash can next to her didn't even register. I didn't bother pointing it out cause I knew I was going to snap a lot of pictures for the TR. Every aspect of the park should be documented for future generations. Including the trash, I guess. Thanks to all for the kind words. A couple weeks ago, I went to the park by myself and rode a few "big person" rides. And it was fun. (http://lebeauleblog.wordpress.com/2011/06/06/flying-solo-at-kings-island/) But there's nothing like hearing my daughter scream with delight on Surf Dog. Or laughing her head off as we splash around on the log flume. Josie used to ride the Great Pumpkin Coaster by herself and was very proud to tell me to sit on the sidelines while she did so. But now she'd rather have me cram my adult-sized rear into a kiddie coaster and have me whip around that little circular track with her. I'll do it while she wants me to. In a few years, she probably won't want me to anymore. Good thing she has a little sister who will be ready for the park in another year or two.

The wife more or less kicked me out of the house so she could work on some projects without my interference. So off to KI we went. Here's a full trip report: http://lebeauleblog....rt-uk-day-2011/ Thanks for reading!

Thanks for the kind words. If you're going to walk around an amusement park by yourself in a Superman T-shirt a sense of humor helps!

Rule Number One of White Water Canyon: You do NOT ask the guy that controls the water cannons to not fire them. That goes for the guests controlling the 25-cent cannons at the end also. I hope those girls learned that lesson. Glad you liked it! The girls did NOT learn their lesson with regards to the water towers. They begged the next cannon operator and the guests controlling the cannons not to fire. Those wishes were granted. Although by that point it made no difference. We all looked like we'd been dunked. You could have blasted us with a fire hose and we wouldn't have been any more saturated. Thanks for reading! The one girl who brought her cell phone on the ride placed a call immediately afterwards. So I guess it survived. When I rode Diamondback, the kid next to me had his phone out for just about the entire ride! I don't know phones, but it was a touch screen. It sure looked a lot more expensive than my phone. I kept an eye on it in case I had to dodge it when he released his grip. Kids today, I tell ya

Usually, when I go to Kings Island I take my daughter. So it's pretty rare for me to venture outside of Planet Snoopy. But this weekend, I had a couple hours to cut loose and I made the most of them. Here's a link to the full trip report detailing a middle-aged dad's fleeting moments of freedom in a park full of teens: http://lebeauleblog....t-kings-island/ Thanks for reading!

It's anecdotal evidence, so as solid evidence goes it's not very good. Having said that, I very rarely eat in the park. But just because I choose not to, I don't assume that CF has their pricing structure all wrong. Apparently, a lot of other people are choosing to eat inside the park in spite of the high prices and the (arguably) low quality. If not, CF would have made changes.

I had the same thought. But I will say from where I was standing (mostly in Planet Snoopy) the new cups fit very nicely in cup holders in strollers.
-
I like the WindSeeker cup also. The photo of it is deceiving in that the WindSeeker cup is actually the same size as last year's Diamondback cup; the WindSeeker cup is thinner, but it's also taller. Here's a photo of them side by side: I wondered if that was the case. Thanks for the side-by-side! The WindSeeker cup sure looks neat. I wonder how the tall, thin design works from the standpoint of functionality. I have a feeling I'll shell out for one before the end of the season.
