  1. I was just now looking at the episode of the Brady Bunch where they were at Kings Island...I noticed a ride that I coudn't identify. It was between Racer and Flying Dutchman, where Skylab used to be. It looked (from the long shots I saw it on) like a roller coaster that just went around in circles. What was this ride?

  2. The best flat ride....hmmm, hard to choose....

Used to be Skylab, but now...

Scrambler. Something about the way it forces one from side to side (if you are riding alone....even better with a date...not that I would know, of course :-( ).

I was never around to see Halley's Comet at KI, but I've ridden the version they have at Coney Island...they should bring that back to PKI, I think.

  3. I have that one in particular on tape, and every time I watch it, I'm amazed at how new the rides (and the park) look (such as Racer, Log Flume, Scrambler, etc).

Has anyone seen the Partridge family episode at KI? I've heard about it, but never seen it.

  4. From the pictures I've seen of it, it looks like an exact clone of the Python, which is now at Coney Island. Are they the same model, or is the Python simply a recreation of Galaxi/Bavarian Beetle?

    What was the Rotor, anyway?

  5. Oh, dear god, Son of Beast.

Let me just start out by saying I'm rather big boned. Those two bars on either side of the lap bar are TORTURE! My legs bounce very painfully back and forth between them constantly. The last time I was on it, I was very much in REAL pain, like I had never felt before on any ride, ANYWHERE. It cause bruises on my legs, and it caused me to break down and start crying in the middle of the ride, begging someone, ANYONE to stop the ride :-). That was last sunday, and my thighs are still bruised, and they still hurt. Why can't they just get the shoulder restraints, like on Top Gun and Vortex?

  6. Hi,

I read on the site about the ride Flight Commander....they say it closed in 1995, and that it had some "problems". What is there now where the ride used to be, and what was this ride, anyway? Anyone have any pictures?

  7. I live in Montgomery (tiny, rich kid suburb in northeast hamilton county, Ohio), and go to Sycamore High school....I live maybe 10 minutes from the park, and have taken full advantage of it since 1995.

  8. I Thought KCKC was the best, even though the other two are also great (I never could figure out why the line for Kings Mill Flume, aka Wild Thornberries was always so long! I once waited two hours to get on it!)

  9. Yes, I remember the noise well....I thought my sister was nuts for riding it at first....but then, she talked me into it.

Still, I do think it looked much better than the rock climbing thing and the virtual reality spot they have now on that area....More useful, too. It's sad how many of the smaller, non-coaster rides like Skylab have disappeared over the years (I was incredibly ****ed that they got rid of the Kenton Cove Keelboat Canal [is that the right name?] a couple of years ago)

  10. Hey,

Skylab (RIP 1986-1997) was one of my all time favorite rides-it was the one that got me over being afraid of upside down rides. Does anyone know really why it was taken down? (I've read that it was closed due to "maintenance trouble"...does anyone know more?)

    Any info would be appreciated,

    W. Dyess
