This has been discussed to death. But I hope Vortex doesn't leave within the next 5 years. The Carolina Cyclone at Carowinds has been in operation for 26 years. It opened in 1980. Corkscrew at Cedar Point been in operation for 30 years, it opened in 1976. So I think as long as Vortex is maintained well, it should be around for a while.

Here is the hidden photo.
It looking good. Alot more theming has been added. I'm sure by Friday this area is going to look great.

Yet again another change to the Friday forcast. Enough is enough already. Here is the latest.
Fri
Apr 14
AM T-Storms
79°/58° 40%

^ LOL
Update to weater.com. Now only a 10 pecent chance of rain on Friday, with highs in the upper 70's.
Well I looked at the forcast again. Changed yet again. This time is says a 70 pecent chance of thunderstroms. Why do they keep changing the forcast. This is driving me insane.
-
I think we will be fine. On weather.com, they are forcasting a chance of storms on Friday, but only a 30% chance, with a high of 76. It is that time of the year. April showers bring May flowers.

I noticed in one of the Nick Photos from the PKI exclusive tour, that the Skyline sign was down. Anyone know if it still will be Skyline for 2006, or is something different moving in. I thought the only reason they put Skyline up there late in the season last year, was so they could serve Skyline at Winterfest.
-
It's only a 40 percent chance. If it does storm the rides will shut down, but will re-open as soon as possible. I don't think it's going to be a bad day at all. I can only hope that these storms in the forcast may scare some people away.

You know for $10 or $15 to park at an amusment park I do not expect to be picked up by a tram - I expect to be picked up by a lemo and dropped off at each ride and shop individually!
Good one. I can't agree more with that statement. But of course I don't have to worry about the $10 parking fee with my season pass.

My favorite park outside of PKI would probably have to be Cedar Point. With PCW being a close second behind Cedar Point.
-
I don't think it's overrated. It's still the world's longest wooden coaster, after 27 years.

I ride it because it's their LOL. No seriously though it's still ranked as one of the best coasters around. So i'm just glad to have it so close by. Also it's the funniest coaster I have ever ridden in the dark. You get that out of control feeling at night.

I voted for Vortex.

I will be at the park on opening day. Only 5 more days. Woohoo!
-
I guess then the price increases already seen at other Paramount Parks this year, will be coming to PKI as well. I don't even want to see what they are going to charge for a slice of pizza. In my opinion with Cedar Fair lowering prices and Paramount raising them. I don't think it was a good idea for Paramount to raise prices.
-
That is way too much. If they are going to charge $10 dollars to park, then they need to repave the parking lot. I know a few years ago they did some improvements to the parking lot. But still.
-
I'll be at the park on Friday and Sunday.
-
Yeah and with the weather being nice if it hold's out. They will probably be alot of people at the park on Friday. But oh well it will still be worth it.

Id have to say Magnum XL 200. Just because the view you get of Lake Erie cresting the second hill is awesome. You know that on a clear day from the top of Magnum's Lift you can see Canada?
-
Changed again. Now it saying 71 degrees, partly sunny, with only a 20 percent chance of rain for the 14th. 7 more days to go.
I'm getting exicted.
-
For a rumor, this thread is sure getting alot of attention. I also agree that PKI is both a theme park as well as an amusement park.

Pics from April 6th. I think we all saw these from the exclusive update. But just wanted to let everyone know.

Yes the area does look nice. I'm looking forward to seeing it for myself next Friday. Only 8 more days.
I wonder though why they decided to remove the tunnel from FOC (Beastie). I guess they thought it didn't fit the theme anymore?
-
I'm not going to believe anything till I see something offical. All we know still that the parks are still up for sale. Who knows who would buy them. But I also to think that it will be some type of an investment group.
-
Oh well if the park is busy. I have a season pass. I may be going back on Easter Sunday too. Which like pervious years the park is always dead on Easter. But it doesn't bother me if the park is busy. It will just be nice to be back inside the gates. And besides we have all season.

I'm still coming. Besides they said it was going to rain here today in Dayton, and it didn't do a thing. So it may rain and it may not.
