I went to Winterfest tonight. The park had a really good crowed. Now that could have been from people who were going to visit on Friday also came today, but with as cold as it was, alot of people where there.
I think something else we are not looking at here either is, our economy is not in a very good spot again right now. I work in retail and our sales the last couple of weeks have been down. I just think people are not spending as much money right now. I do though agree that the cost of Winterfest is a little high, but I also remember the first Fearfest and the cost being steap for that too. I even had to pay to attend the first Fearfest and I worked at PKI. I think this year is more of a trial and error period for Winterfest, whatever didn't work this year, they will fix and it will be even better next.

That makes me mad. Winterfest must not be turning out to be as great as the park wanted it too. Why all of sudden all of these discounts. First they make you purchase tickets in advance, cause they threaten you with they may sell out. So I buy my tickets in advance for $17.99 for this Saturday. So I paid over $37.00 for tickets + shipping. Now your telling me that season pass holders can buy one ticket at full price and get the second on free. That would have saved me quite a bit of change. I wonder if I complain to PKI if they would do anything?

Thank you.

I remember a while back a link to some kind of Paramount Parks blog. Anyone have this link? Thanks
-
Well unfortunally I already purchased Winterfest tickets for next Saturday, December 10th. So that's why I didn't want 10 Winterfest tickets.

I won the Winterfest ticket giveaway from PKI. I chose 10 tickets to PKI for 2006. Even though I have a season pass, it will be great to be able to bring some friends along next year who doesn't have a pass.

I will be picking this up next Saturday for sure. Anyone know which shop it will be selling in? Thanks

Sounds good to me. I'd join.

Later, it was SBNO for 2 seasons at the turn of the millenium while the park pondered what to do with it.
Actually it was only SBNO for only one season. It was not open for the 2000 season. It did indeed run for the 1999 season. In 2001 it reopened as The Wild Tornberry's River Adventure.

Yes Skyline is cheaper outside the park, but not by much (drinks are obviously cheaper outside the park.) The 3-ways and 4-ways are only marginally more expensive (like 30 to 50 cents. What they get you on is the serving size is smaller at PKI.
Actually the prices I beleive on the food is the same. I went to SKyline today, cause I was craving it after talking about it hehehehe. And I remember looking at the prices going out of the park on Saturday Night, and the prices at least on the 4 ways are the same. Serving size may be smaller not sure. But of course like what was already said PKI gets you on the drinks.

Actually they used to have Skyline there years ago. I actually perfered to eat Skyline at the one at the front gate, then in Coney Mall.

I can't get to the pics, says page not found. Anyone know if the site is down?

Well today it was as crowded as I thought it would have been. We arrived at the park about 6:00 PM The first thing we did was Adventure Express this was only abnout a 5 minute wait even though they were only running one train. I still dont get why they take trains off the coasters towards the end of the season.
Umm I was at the park on 10/22 as well, and Adventure Express was running 2 trains when I rode at 4pm. So I don't think they were only running 1, unless they were one on the transfer and they took it off after I rode. As for why they normally take 1 train off most coasters (IE Vortex, Express, and sometimes Beast) So they can get an early start on the rehab of the trains.

Friday nights they are open for Fearfest from 5pm till 12am. On Saturday they are open from 10am till 12am.

I too went to Opryland as a kid. My Brother and I rode the Walbash Cannonbll over and over again. I think it reminded us of Vortex at PKI, even though it didn't have as many loops, or wasn't as tall or fast. I had visted Oprymills the mall that now stands on the old park property, back in 2003. It made me sad. They are still some stuff still around from the old park though. The General Jaskson show boat is still there. And also rocks from the old water raft ride.
I just wish Premier (owner of Six Flags before name change) wouldn't have let most of those rides just sit in an open field. It would have be nice for some of the other coasters to be rebuilt elsewear. Correct me if i'm wrong, but wasn't Hangman the only coaster that was relocated?

Looks good, and it does look much better. Great job.

Well with PKI doing that buy one get one free ticket offer. I'm sure the park was very busy all weekend, and will probably be packed tomorrow as well.

What time did the park close on Friday and Saturday?....And what time does the park close today on a Sunday...If someone can really answer this for me this will help me out alot. Thanx
The park closed at 8pm on Friday, at 10pm on Saturday, and at 9pm tonight. This is also the last day of daily operation. The park is closed Monday thru Thursday, but will be reopen Friday, and be open thru Monday. Then the park is closed the rest of the weekends in September for park sell outs, but will be reopen for weekends in October, and the first weekend in November.

Bingo, yes in 1997 is when Waterworks got expanded. The wave pool was added, and a new kiddie area. In 1998 the body boarding attraction opened.

I think The Beast is a little borning durning the day its only fun at night but I really could care less if they took it down. Yea its a classic ride now but its borning
Yeah of course we sometimes think it's boring. But just think about the first time we rode all of KI's ride. They were not boring to me the first time. The rides are not the same though today, as they were once I first rode.

I think both of these ideas sound pretty cool. I'm sure will we find out soon enough though.

The hint in question is located in the right side of the newletter. Where the triva question part is.

so, if that means that HBL is saying bye-bye... what becomes of SDATHC, and other remaining HBL themed rides?
Well no worries about SDATHC, as the license is not owned by the park, it's owned by Sally. So SDATHC will stay. As far as other HB themed rides, they will more then likey get a makeover and themed or names changed to Nick cartoons, or shows.

Here we go again! Vortex is not rough. I've been riding Vortex for a very very long time. (1987 - Present). FoF with the OSTR was horribe, but Vortex is far from that experience.
