Ditto, Chainsaw... Hands down the best group of people I have ever worked with. I was a first year too but I will definitely be back next year to reunite with my Slaughterhouse family.. And Chainsaw, just so you know who this is... I'm thinking I'm going to have to change my forum name to S.B.J. CHAINSAAAAAAAAW!!!!

Best review of Slaughterhouse I've heard yet.. I'm proud to say that I was part of the "Apocalypse Now territory". Those of us in back of the house are like Mama's red headed step-child... She loves us and we love her.. But she doesn't quite know what to do with us.. We're the black sheep of the Slaughterhouse family (which is saying A LOT).

Starrynight, what day did you go on? Also.... I can assure you that it was not a "device"... That was all his natural voice talent.. Very effective.

So the Haunt is over... and I would like to send a BIG thank you to all the guests that came out and allowed me to scare the crap out of them. You all were great. Also, thanks to my fellow haunters for dedicating themselves and making the job the best I've ever had. But to keep it topical... How 'bout that Slaughterhouse, eh? I totally didn't work there.. I just thought they were probably the most awesome thing that's ever happened. I wouldn't say that if I worked there because I definitely didn't. That's crazy.. Me? Working there? Ha.. ha.. er..

What I've found with working in haunted houses is that it doesn't matter what tool you use.. It's how you use it and the presence you have. I've seen actors get ridiculous scares with just a look.. I've also seen people drop to the floor in terror by just shouting "Poptart!". It depends on the guest, the timing, and the creativity of the actor as well as their ability to assess the situation (i.e. what scare will work best with which guest). I've seen both "real" and fake chainsaws at work and they both can be extremely effective depending on the handler. P.S. The Haunt's Undertaker kicks ass!

In these past 6 Haunts I've witnessed many of my fellow actors being struck both intentionally and unintentionally. Accidents happen.. All people respond to fear differently.. Some scream, some freeze, some sing or say "Hello", some act tough, and some swing their arms wildly and/or jump around.. Sometimes the latter results in an actor getting struck and most of the time the guest apologizes. Personally, I consider it an achievement if I scare someone so bad that they lose muscle control and accidentally hit me. But then there's the intentional.. And it's sickening. The worst I experienced was when an actress in my room (I was not in the room at the time) was struck in the ribs intentionally by an adult male. She popped out from a curtain for the scare, the man stepped back, paused, ****ed his arm, and shouted "B*tch!" and chopped her in the ribs. He ran off like a.. well.. you know. She's a trooper though and still continues to give it her all every night and is one of our most dedicated performers. So my long-winded question is: Whether you're a guest, an actor, or an employee, what are your experiences with "problem guests" at The Haunt? -Ringo

The best is when they say nothing at all.. They just drop to the floor in fear and their friends have to help them up

Just so everyone knows (and please forgive if this is overkill). I edited my previous response, but I really want to start out on a clean slate.. So I wanna make sure everyone sees this. I attempted to make a joke that was misunderstood and offended others. I accept full responsibilty for this. I never intended to anger anyone. But being a new member, I understand that my humor and general tone is not yet known to fellow members. On another note, so everyone is caught up, my previous avatar was of a 1950's style caricature of a man giving the middle finger. My intention was not to "flick off" every member of the forum. It was just a pic I found that I thought was funny. Like I said, I am new to message boards and I didnt consider how certain images can and will effect people differently. My apologies again. Like I said, I am a new hire to Halloween Haunt.. and my only goal is to provide the audience with the best scare they've ever had. Ringo

P.S. I've worked haunted houses before and am comfortable with scaring people... However I've never worked on something this large in scale

Hey folks, So I just got hired as an actor. I'm a first timer and have never visited the Haunt. I would like to hear from both sides, employees AND visitors. 1. What am I to expect as a performer? Thanks, Ringo
