  1. I've always held my hands up through the tunnels. The last time I rode it (Pride Night) was the first time I ever made contact with the tunnel...I was in the left seat and the knuckle of my middle finger brushed the side. I didn't have my fingers fully extended, so I imagine it would have hurt if I had. I never thought it was possible, because I'm only 5'7", but it definitely is. I'll be pulling my arms in a bit from now on.
  2. I'm probably going to wear my t-shirt with two unicorns screwing under a rainbow. Seriously.
  3. I remember when everyone was Oooh-ing and Aaaah-ing over the fake Bat logo but I thought it looked either amateurish or rushed (because it was. Banshee's logo is what I expected.
  4. The area circled red: Why is the dirt such a darker color there? Maybe...just maybe...they are going to build a trench for the second vertical loop. Please?
  5. I've been the past 2 years, which were the best 2 visits I've ever had at Kings Island. Crowds are so light that most rides are basically walk-ons (the only wait was for Firehawk, which I don't intend to ride ever again anyway) and the weather was great both times. Amusement parks are always more fun at night with all of the lights on. Can't wait!
  6. I'm seriously surprised that it seems to be the common consensus that The Bat logo is cool. I think the logo (and the website) look rushed and amateurish. The logo looks more like one for a softball team than a modern coaster, created in a couple of hours in Adobe Illustrator. It's one of the main reasons I think the whole Bat thing is a ruse.
  7. I feel like I lose brain cells every time I look at this thread.
  8. I watched the news story. The dude was just guessing...he acted as if he had never seen the blueprints before. He said something like "yep, that's a big coaster alright". He didn't know the details and was just giving a semi-educated guess.
  9. Flip Flap Railway was the first looping wooden coaster.
  10. In some accounts she is seen combing her hair as she laments. She is heard more often than seen, wailing as she approaches the abode in the late evening or early morning, sometimes perching on the windowsill two to three hours or even days before a death. As she moves off into the darkness witnesses describe a fluttering sound, such as the sound made by birds flying at night. Hence, the mistaken belief that Banshees manifest as birds such as the crow. The inaccurate association with crows is probably due to confusion of the Banshee with the primitive Celtic goddess Badb, the goddess of war who appeared frequently in the form of a crow. Banshees also wail around natural forms such as trees, rivers, and stones. Wedge shaped rocks known as "Banshee's chairs" are found in Waterford, Monaghan and Carlow. Although there have been reports of Banshees accompanying Irish families who emigrated to the Americas, it appears the Banshee more often grieves for an emigrant at the ancestral family seat in Ireland. Stories are told of the misfortune visited upon men who interfered with the Banshee by taking her comb or challenging her.
  11. Wow. Sometimes I think that I'm too much of a pathetic coaster nerd. This forum (especially this topic) has reassured me that I am not.
  12. Were these possibly just light poles for highway lights or such? Sounds more like that than supports for a ride. Yes...I suppose that's a possibility. There were a few different lengths though, and the short "branches" that looked like connectors reminded me of supports. I guess I'll know for sure on my way home today if there are new lights in the area.
  13. I've been following this thread for a while but had nothing to contribute until now. I know there was a small lynch mob formed because of a supposed sighting of Intamin track on I-71, but I have something to report. I'm not going to say for sure that I saw coaster supports on I-275 (just past the Coney Island exit and before the Highway 52 exit), but I think I did. There were two trucks pulled over on the side of the road, each with about half a dozen long cylindrical support-looking objects on them. The "supports" were silver...shiny silver, not gray. A couple of them had smaller cylinders branching off of the main post. I'm not an expert in coaster supports, but that is what they looked like to me. Since they were pulled over, I didn't realize what they were until after I had already passed them and I was on my way to work, otherwise I would have tried to get a picture. I work in Clermont County, but it seems like the trucks would have had to have come from Kentucky or Kellogg Avenue by the way they were facing. So, if this turns out to be nothing...don't hunt me down and beat me. But if it does turn out to be something, I just wanted to put it out there that I saw them.
