  1. Besides Rob Decker's comments, has anyone heard how Ghostrider turned out (fanboy feedback)? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. ^so an RMC refurb of Mean Streak would be called "Frankenstreak"? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I like what Invertigo adds to the park...something a little different and it's a very intense ride. I'd hate to see it go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I was at the playground with my son when I made this statement so I didn't look at the picture close enough. After looking at it closer I realized that no prep work has been done at all. You wouldn't pour a curb without the ground being prepped for pavement, so this is most likely a rough grading stake, showing the dozers/bobcats...whatever, where the final elevation will be. It still means that a curb will ultimately be there (3 feet away from the stake), but it won't happen until the site is prepped (they'll re-stake it after the site is prepped when they are ready for the actual curb). All that to say that I expect the "fallen trees" to be cleaned out and dirt to start moving in that area soon. In our little friend's case the "C" means "cut" dirt out...not much though, only 0.51 feet (or about 6"). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. That's an elevation note. -0.51 ft down from the line on the stake is the proposed top of curb...definitely a pathway/road of some kind. Also, I'd say it most likely will go in very soon. You typically don't put a stake in the ground if it's not going in for a while. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Not found on the green train, then a pic of the blue train. Blue usually signifies water...just a thought. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Ok, well I'll drive down the fake highway to the fake free parking lot and spend my fake money to ride some of the best fake wooden coasters in the world, while I sip on my fake free soda and have a fake great day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I just watched the Ohio Valley Coasters video exploring the WWC queue and it seems almost excessively long to me. I haven't ridden WWC in a long time so I have to ask, could the line ever be long enough to fill that queue (95 degree Saturday in August)? If not, why would they spend the money to make the queue so long (it looks really nice, by the way)? I said yesterday that I go in circles with my theories (I'll be back on team giga tomorrow), but I think a Rivertown expansion would be really nice in that area. They could do it and still build a GCI as the anchor to this section. My new working theory is this new queue may actually be "Phase 1" of the expansion and the actual entrance to WWC may be shortened next year off this new path. Of course this theory gets blown out of the water (like a WWC cannon) if the general consensus is that the queue as is, is barely long enough to contain the WWC line.
  9. Magenta Lizard, thank you for all of your pictures, they are appreciated! Whatever this is, I appreciate the meticulous tree clearing, as opposed to what we've seen on other projects. (See: Diamondback). I agree. Thanks Magenta Lizard. I think I change my mind daily on what this is. Just when I'm convinced it's not a coaster, something happens to sway me. Based on your pictures now, the way they are gently cutting through the woods has me thinking Boulder Dash? Of course I'll probably be back to "no coaster" mode some other time. They really have me guessing.
  10. Should someone start a new "KI vs CP" thread? We are so far off topic right now!
  11. "B/C" typically means "back of curb" as in a roadway curb. That's very common in "site" surveying, but it could mean something else for a structure that I am not familiar with.
  12. Some of you probably already know this (or probably know even more) but according to RCDB, there are apparently two Happy Valley parks in China. Both are getting two coasters each. One is getting a B&M Wing and the other is getting a B&M Dive (they are both getting woodies as well). http://rcdb.com/r.htm?ot=2&op=2017
  13. ^A couple weeks ago I'm pretty sure I saw a "major key" photo in reference to The Bat...possibly one for Banshee as well.
  14. Ok, Magenta Lizard took my baseball line. I'm going to completely flop on my original stance and join team giga with that last tweet. Seems like they are teasing a very large attraction. I just have to wonder how the new giga will interact with the relocated DA....?
  15. We'll see. Personally I have not seen any physical evidence that points to a "major" new attraction for 2017. I think a relocation of Dino's with a sprucing up of Rivertown is certainly as valid a theory as jamming a giga coaster into that space. It was just a thought. If they do jam a giga into that space and can have it open by 2017, I would be completely satisfied...elated even.
  16. We'll see...a theory is a theory. Moving Dino's to Rivertown to make room somewhere else is just as valid of a theory as anything else on here. I have a question...what was the new attraction in 2008 and 2013? Not much in 2008 and I recall in 2013 the new attraction was a nice big gaping site where SOB used to be. What followed in each of those years? A gigantic new B&M. I'm not saying it's a formula, but it's not out of the question for the park to take a "year off" with new attractions to focus on something big the following year, even using the "off" year to prep the site for the next big one. To me a sprucing up of Rivertown and relocating Dino's is a valid theory for 2017. I don't know if the activity in Rivertown is a diversion of some kind, but just because there's a fence with a sign, a few survey markers and sparse tree clearing does not necessarily equate to a giant coaster. They've already said they are renovating WWC, moving the entrance...etc. They have to put something up to keep people away from the area...a fence seems logical to me. It's not some elaborate diversion, just necessary for the work they are planning (which again doesn't always mean "huge coaster"). None of those who are postulating here really know anything. A theory is a theory. Looking at the physical evidence, this is one of those theories that makes sense.
  17. Ok, as theories go, this one makes a lot of sense. Move Dinosaurs Alive to Rivertown this year (or during the off-season). That seems to me to be a much better location than Coney Mall anyway, next to Planet Snoopy. That opens up the huge space behind The Racer for our much anticipated giga in 2018. That makes a ton of sense to me.
  18. FTFY Meh. Most everyone who I know that pours concrete calls them footers. It's a slang or regional thing on what you call them. I know footing is the proper terminology, but when you've been calling it one thing for 20 years, you usually just go with it. Dang, I blew the quote! Agreed. I've never heard of the term footer used for a sandwich/chili dog. Always hear footer used for footing in the construction world.

  20. ^Despite my post yesterday questioning the survey stakes ppl are talking about, I completely agree with you on this. There is too much physically going on right now to dismiss a major addition.
  21. I was at the park yesterday, rode the train and saw the survey stakes and clearing. I'm really not seeing a huge indication that these are related to a future big ride. There are simply not enough to be mass clearing (and I agree with an earlier post that a coaster, even if it follows terrain, needs some degree of mass clearing, if anything for construction access). They look to me to be related to the new WWC entrance and renovation, as mentioned by the train operator. I do believe that there's enough smoke pointing to "something" new (why move the WWC entrance, tear down and build a new funnel cake bldg., build a fence and plaster it with teaser signs...etc), and I'm still hopeful for something big. I just am not personally convinced that these survey stakes are directly connected. I was looking at the area behind the fence from the midway and thought a terrain blitz or woodie would look so great in that area (I know, not a popular argument by team giga), that's still what I'm hoping for.
