This Monday i am going to Cedar Point for a few days, then i will be going to KI during 8-4-7 then i might be going to Virginia, so i need to decide which park i shoul go to, Bush Gardens Europe, or Kings Dominion??? All we want is thrill rides and roller coasters, no small rides. Which one is a more "Place a roller coaster enthusiast has to visit?"

Thanks.

Kings Dominion has more coasters, including 4 wooden coasters (5 if you count Rebel Yell as two). There's also some decent steel coasters, Volcano IMO being the best. You'll also find Drop Zone, some scooters, a Tomb Raider top spin, and the newly expanded WaterWorks.

While BGE has fewer coasters (5), they're just better. 2 Arrows and 3 B&M's, including the new Griffon! Having not yet been to Florida, this is the best theme park I've ever set foot in. Wonderful theming throughout, and the food is worth the price! There's also a couple of dark rides, as well as some great water rides, too.

You may save money with KD as you might have a MAXX Pass (I assume), but Busch Europe will be a more memorable, quality experience.

BGE hands down.

The park is one of the most beautiful & enjoyable parks I have ever been to.

BGE may have less coasters, but they are some really good coasters. Considering that you have just left KI, you will be riding coasters at KD that are very similar (Rebel Yell, FoF, and from some people's opinions Anoconda).

Passing on BGE would be a mistake.

Iv'e been looking at both websites, and i like Kings Dominion better, it has more rides, but BGE has some neat roller coasters like Griffon. I have a KI season pass, and i knew i should of got a Maxx Pass instead. So far i am going with KD.

KD looks to much like KI and has about the same rides. I will be going to BGE next year because all there coasters Look so amazing......Could you say BGE is the Holiday World of steel coasters?

I just wish BGE had some thrill rides that aren't roller coasters, i want to ride KD's Drop Zone and they're other thrill rides, and does anyone know if Hyper Sonic is still operating???

Hands down Busch Gardens all the way... The coasters are first class and groundbreaking, the entertainment is top nothch, the food is fabulous, and dont forget BGE is the most beautiful park out there.

Where else can you ride a Floorless Dive Coaster, a B&M Hyper Coaster, an Inverted, and a Classic Arrow Interlocking Looper?

This shouldn't even be a debate. PKD is nice but not on the same level as BGE...

I will be visit in 2 weeks.

I visited BGE last month, and yeah hands down. The park is just beautiful, they only got five coasters but there all good. There food is just outstanding, there Festhaus looks better than ours plus there's a show in there. I haven't been to KD so can't say much about it. Griffon is a monster, but its so smooth.

Put it to you another way.

My wife and I went to KD back in '99 for the first time. We had season passes from KI and decided to use them to our advantage. We hit KD on a Thursday expecting to be at the park for two days since neither of use were ever there. About 4:00pm, on the first day, we were bored with the park. We actually went back to the car to look at the AAA travel book to see what else was in the area to do. At that time, I did not realize that BGE was so close.

On Friday we went to BGE and it was the absolute highlight of our trip. Everything is fantastic with the park. Even though through the website it seems that there is more to do at KD, it is not a fair comparison for BGE. There are just some things that cannot be seen through pictures or explained in words.

We did go back to KD in '04 to see if anything changed, and still felt the same way. We actually left the park early to go back to BGE since we had free passes due to a incident with a rude ride operator the previous day.

Volcano is a great coaster, everything else is "meh". When going to KD, you can see why KI was the crown jewel for Paramount.

Let me chime in.

If you have the opportunity to go to BGE and pass it up you will absolutely regret it.

As I've said before, I'd put both Busch parks up against anything that Disney has built.

I actually went to both parks in 2003 for my HS Senior spring break. Kings Dominion was a lot of fun, especially Hypersonic XLC. But BGE blew it out of the water. And that's before Griffon even existed. Apollo's Chariot is easily one of the best hyper coasters out there, and Alpengeist is just flat out intense. Not to mention the absolutely gorgeous scenery. It's a fantastic park, nothing less. BGE all the way.
