What rate of tax the limited partnership pays is a large factor in whether or not the company will end up having to sell or will be able to continue. It affects how much money is available as profit to be distributed, to pay off loans, etc., as the tax must be paid before anything else. And what Ed Markey has to do with any of that, heaven only knows...I think it is safe to say he would be in favor of Cedar Fair paying the same tax rate as corporations, but that is only supposition on my part. He certainly is no friend of the industry. Just because you may not understand something does NOT mean it is not important. Hauntguy: Jzarely is VERY good at explaining things like this.
