neo8820 Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 It's good to see the manufacturer is recommending these safety enhancements. I've heard of several incidents on this type of ride. Quote

neo8820 Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Duh I was thinking of this ride for some reason. However, I have also noticed a lot of incidents the scramber too. There was the indoor one where someone died a few months ago etc. Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 18, 2007 Author Posted August 18, 2007 That, of course, would be a Zipper...the one ride where I have uniformly seen the "NO ONE RIDES ALONE" rule applied...everywhere it runs. I love Zippers, but I sure do wish I could ride one without having to have someone else with me! Quote

I have never ridden zipper because of the round motion..see previous comment re: monster I thought those doors will latched, and locked with a cotter pin Quote

The Interpreter Posted August 18, 2007 Author Posted August 18, 2007 They are, but Zippers are very violent rides. The second rider is part of the restraint system--preventing you from sliding sideways in the car...darn it! Quote

I liked to watch it though Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 25, 2007 Author Posted August 25, 2007 As to Wisdom Sizzlers, see also: http://www.canada.com/topics/news/national...cb1&k=47701 http://www.statesman.com/news/content/news...823sizzler.html Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 25, 2007 Author Posted August 25, 2007 Kentucky is requiring seat belts in all Wisdom Sizzlers, so... Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 25, 2007 Author Posted August 25, 2007 The first link in this thread indicates the ONLY Sizzler in operation in Kentucky was at the fair. I have no idea whether the one at Beech Bend is in operation or not, but I do know the manufacturer has recommended that seat belts be installed and the Commonwealth is not allowing Sizzlers without them to operate. Coasterfan Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Sorry to go off topic again, but are there any Zippers around here? I used to ride the one at LeSourdsville and I loved it. Since they closed I haven't been on one though. Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 25, 2007 Author Posted August 25, 2007 No park based Zippers in the area around Cinci. By the way, the first 14 Zippers went TWICE as fast as they do now. Seriously! See: http://www.ride-extravaganza.com/rides/zipper/ Quote
