Karen
Ok I see a little mix up with the Monsters information here - There was a "wall of Monsters" that usually only happened on Friday nights because the park was closed prior to Haunt opening. I would say at least 50% of the park scare actors were at that front gate ready to haunt anyone there - this only lasted up to an hour at most then they would go off to their haunt locations and only the undertaker and maybe one or two scare actors hung around out front for another hour or so. After that initial shock of monsters all of the attractions were generally packed with plenty of scare actors. I do agree with UncleHenry on the cornstalkers - I never once saw less than six over there at any one time and generally it seemed as if several more were out there. The younger ones needed to be out of their attractions by 11:40pm - no exceptions!! So most were leaving their haunts around 11pm. I was told by those younger ones that state law they had to be out of makeup and clocked out by midnight. Well Kings Island was making sure that there was plenty of time allotted for this. As for Death Row not scaring anyone?? When did you go there?? Man I was never there that I was not hearing my name almost nonstop!! Yes they do know me but honestly that place was full of people. Even toward the end of Haunt during Bare Bones nights those people would follow you out the door just to have people to scare!!! IF anyone came in while they were scaring me they got all tickled and headed back in again! Those guys love to scare lol. Tombstone TerrorTory even kept the scares going well into the night - after the kids left they would scatter out more and just followed people a bit to keep it going. I also loved the guy under the bridge and from what I hear, and did actually catch a few laughs from under the trail. We went on that one every single night of haunt because my daughter's husband worked it and we knew that trail very well. NO matter how many times we went on it the people moved - we never knew where they were coming out or hiding. They moved around on us. Captain Picard
I think the Haunt is showing some potential compared to FearFest. The park audio systems are still lacking and it shows for this type of event. If you ever seen a live Bill and Ted show you know it wouldn't be the same if they did it at KI. At some houses I thought I was at Universal HHN as I seen it before. The bathroom scene in Club Blood and the toilet spray in Trail of Terror was at HHN 16 last year. The Interpreter
Imitation...either the sincerest form of flattery, or the device used by those who can't be bothered to think up their own forms of entertainment. No limits, indeed!
RingMaster
Easily the best night of Haunt was Halloween Night, when EVERY SINGLE MONSTER was part of the Wall of Monsters. This included every one of the mazes as well as the creepers/roamers that are normally there every Friday. Not to mention DEATH. ROW. The best maze crew of the whole event was there front and center with us creepers/roamers, that had been doing the Wall since Day One, and the rest of the monsters from Blood, Manor, Tombstone, Red Beard's, CarnEVIL, and Trail not far behind us. Funny that almost a majority of the maze monsters had no clue what to do when the gates started to come up. Except run. Right at the guests. Who were hiding behind the metal detectors. Who weren't safe there because a few monsters managed to get past the detectors and out to the ticket booths/old tram circle to scare the guests. Oh that was fun. That, and management getting film footage of seven monsters torturing one girl (that wasn't Karen, how weird is that?), getting 'all up in her grill' and stuff like that.
