Browntggrr
If most of you guys was smokers then you would understand the things they go though. I am a smoker (one pack/ week) and I have no problem with most of the current smoking laws. I'll go outside, or be in a designated area. The only law that I do disagree with is the law forbids private owners from making their own rules. The state should not force me to have my establishment be smoke free. They don't pay my bills, taxes, liquor license etc. I'll even go as far as to put a sign outside that states the my bar is a smoking environment. Now where the state law really burns my a$$ is that they will try and dictate that my establishment must be smoke free, but when it comes down to the casinos? -Sure smoking is allowed. Especially since the state gets a large chunk of cash from the casinos and it is not exactly a hidden secret that a majority of gamblers smoke. Niagara Falls Canada has two casinos. And even though smoking was prohibited in all buildings in Canada, it was acceptable in the casinos until recently (perhaps a year ago). Since then, Casino Fallsview (bigger casino floor than MGM in Vegas) has seen a 30% to 40% drop in their revenue. People will now go to Seneca Nation which is right across the Niagara River in Niagara Falls, NY. Many smaller taverns in Ohio and New York have felt the same effect, but the difference is, those establishments are owned by individual citizens, not corporations like most casinos are.
