The Colored Lights on The Eiffel Tower

I'm NOT criticizing the person who said the tower was blue, but it IS green. He may really be colorblind in certain shades.I am a little bit colorblind myself and have gotten into similar arguments because I really can't tell what color something is.

I got into a similar argument with a cop about this very thing. Man that was the hardest $200 to fork over.

As for the flag on top of the tower, Interp that is the very reason that I had heard they don't fly one up there, Aesthetics. Also they do make automated systems that will take down, store, and raise the flag automatically. It can also be programmed for half mast, or multiple flags.

Cory, Adam, come on now. Theres no need for name calling :P Settle down, its not THAT important what the actual color is called. If I remember correctly, a certain marketing spokesperson from long ago talked about re-painting the eifel tower in a bronze color but then manager of the park; Al Weber, decided to stick with the green.

Also, why did they shorten the spike at the top of the tower? Dominions is like it was originally but Kings Island's go shorter. One other thing, does anyone else feel an American flag should be flying from the top of the Eifel Tower?

In 1993 the spike at the top was the very last year I saw the spike on the Eiffel Tower at its original height, Labor Day 1994 I saw the spike half its own size, I could never figure out why they did that. They also added extra spikes that same year that set on the arcs at the top. I asked the park officials about why it was shortened they never replied on the reason why the spikewent shorter. The only reason I could think of was to differentiate the tower at KD from the one at KI, How I differentiate them is how the one at kings dominion does not have a satellite on the south face, and the longer spike. 1999 after the drop zone was built they removed the red beacon at the top and placed an LED Halogen beacon at the top.

The archects at Intamin did not intend for CP to do destroy the lighting effects on the tower.

The tower is not green it is powder blue like the statue of liberty. I disagree with your opinion on the colored lights.

Destroy the lighting effects?

Are ya kidding me? Could you be more dramatic?

The tower has been around for over 30 years, who wants to look at the same thing for 30 years (yeah, ok, plug in the marriage jokes here ;) )?

I enjoy change like this. It breaks the monotony. Much like how some coasters will have their color schemes changed over the years. It keeps things looking fresher.
