The Interpreter
Hmmm. Mighty close to that waterpark place over in Aurora....and will have the added advantage of being year round, all weather, new and with lodging attached. And planned and to be built by the people who were involved with Kalahari in Sandusky. This is getting interesting.
The Interpreter
Hmm, AGAIN. According to this: http://www.cleveland.com/news/plaindealer/....xml&coll=2 Cedar Fair downsized its plans for Geauga Lake's waterpark once Kalhari announced its expansion (in Sandusky?). ... Scott Hamann, a senior analyst for KeyBanc Capital Markets in Cleveland, said Sandusky is the regional water park capital. It's led by Kalahari Resort, which, since expanding this year, is one of the nation's biggest water parks. Great Wolf Lodge and Cedar Point's Castaway Bay are also in Sandusky, and a nearby Holiday Inn is adding its own indoor water park. Such stiff competition has even affected decisions by big players in the water park business. Cedar Fair LP downsized plans for a $100 million water park at Geauga Lake once Kalahari announced its expansion. Cedar Fair has since shuttered Geauga Lake's dry attractions and kept the park's Wildwater Kingdom, in which it has invested $25 million. ... So now what? Does this even more affect Geauga Lake's WWK? I bet it does...
