CGA: 49ers Eyeball New Location For Stadium Site

Featured Replies

A very interesting article. Although the author mistakingly refers to Cedar Fair Entertainment Co. as "Cedar Entertainment." Is Cedar Fair still saying that they will close Great America when the 49ers play in the stadium? Couldn`t that hurt Great America, especially during the post season?

Yes, they are saying that, and they want compensation for lost profits on the game days when they would be closed. . .

Which makes sense. But who would foot the bill for such compensation? This is likely a hot issue with Cedar Fair, as I`m sure they want to bring Halloween Haunt to Great America. If memory serves me correctly, they had one or two houses set up this past October at the park. Kind of like a trial run, so to speak. With the emphasis that Cedar Fair has been placing on their Halloween events, I`m sure they are more then a little concerned about this, even if it is now in their overflow parking lot as opposed to their main lot. Yes, I know most football games are on Sundays, when the Haunt`s typically don`t occur. But there are some times when football games do occur on Saturdays, and preseason games on Friday nights. The potential for lost revenue at the park is fairly significant.
